Truly feels like the internet is dead.
In a matter of months, interactions have completely died off, I don't really have a community on any social platform anymore (everyone left/algos aren't pushing them), and super right-wing garbage gets pushed to the forefront of my feeds.

Social media in general is bad for the soul.
If I didn't need Bluesky for work and to stay connected, I would have dropped social media.
Easy to forget even before Musk took over Twitter was a lot of people being mean to one another with some sort of "gaming discourse" almost daily.
I like that there's less here.
I still grasp for that, and still do need platforms for work reasons, but I am now looking forward to being stable enough for me and my partner to disconnect from the internet, work behind the scenes, and move to the countryside.
Ideally you want some external metric you can tie to (for devs I guess it's wishlists).
On the other hand, not actually sad about it, and becoming a bit disconnected would probably be good for me π
The other side of it, is that politics are no longer just politics. Itβs where people align at the very core of their being.
However, the shift to Bluesky has been a fresh start for a lot of us. We need to preserve.
The internet isn't dead, it's just shedding some limbs that got rotten.
You can still bank on it and watch pornπ€£

Personally Iβd say the pandemic had an effect here. People may have got burnt out/disillusioned when that endedβ¦

Possibly, but tbh I primarily use Deck Blue so it's all organised differently for me than the default app. π€
Not that I reckon many remember even those now!
I wanna foster community to help stay determined in times like this.
There's no value left in the major players owned by 4 companies.
Twitter is alive but it feels like im trying to say someting surrounded by 100,000 angry screaming people.
Facebook... is like walking through a graveyard with ads plastered all over it.
And here...
