I firmly maintain that hockey, despite its reputation, is the most cosmopolitan sport. Name one other place in America where every single person in the stadium knows the words to the Canadian national anthem.

Yes, that’s obvious. But there is nothing wrong with using the original language of the song as it was written. It should never have been changed in the 80’s in the first place.
Sadly, the very first hockey game my now-husband took me to was one of those “went to a fight and a hockey game broke out” types, and every game since then has seemed really tame by comparison. I’m not usually a fan of bloodsports but somehow it’s different on ice.
I remember the good old days watching the Blackhawks on a B&W TV when hockey teams came from places that had ice on the ponds in the winter. Bobby Hull could get in a fight and it still seemed honorable somehow. Then they turned it into WWW on ice in Miami and I stopped watching.
Yeah. That's not the Arrogant Worms, it's a completely different band. The mix-up is because someone mislabeled it back in the 1990s when we were all sharing music by less than legal means and the error is all over the internet.
Montreal: Foul ball hit into the stands...camera pans a couple of sections over...man gets up out of his seat...another pitch...man moving over to where it was hit...another pitch...has to look around...an out...back to man in stands...HE FOUND IT! Man jumps up and down...
Okay okay that is actually how I learned it. We lived north of Boston and my stepdad was a huge bruins fan. We traveled to places to see them, went to Toronto, Atlanta, etc. wherever they were playing. And I learned to love the Canadian national anthem.
Windsor has always been a suburb of Detroit. We pop over for dinner and such. It’s closer to our house than most of the rest of Michigan. Many of the best radio station in Detroit are Canadian
I don’t know about cosmopolitan, but you’re right, even the american fans know all the words the the canadian national anthem (i certainly do after watching it since I was a child. It’s the ONLY sport I enjoy watching on tv, or in person.

What sport do we play Spain at?
Cycling?
1980 changed that to “True patriot love in all thy sons command” when it was adopted as the national anthem.
And I think we should have just gone back to the original in 2018, but instead we got “True patriot love in all of us command”
