SM should've noted the higher cost of shoes might lead to reduced shoe & or sock purchases.

This + more "stay at home wives" might mean demand for needles & 'sock yarn' increases.

Given that the US imports a lot of yarn, tariffs will see price rises ...

This is a great case study of trumps well-honed ability to pick up on things that will likely resonate and then hurt him and get in front of them with manipulative broad(ish) statements that are then pushed out by the legacy media & his social media army. His manipulation skills are off the charts.
