I'm currently reading End of Watch by Stephen King, which is the final book of the Bill Hodges trilogy. And then I'll bo into Book 3 of the Dark Tower series, The Waste Lands
The Infinite and The Divine. I've been wanting to get into Warhammer 40K novels because I know a little about the lore and this book is very well regarded. The first few chapters seem interesting enough.
Working on book 2 of the series now. It's eventually gonna be 3 or 4 duets of books, one duet for each vampire house. It's really good, part of #booksky 📚 💙
Currently working my way through Seveneves. Amazing scifi book, makes me think a little bit too much for a good bedtime read.
So I'm also reading through some of Discworld in the interim. Currently on The Light Fantastic. If you're here, I probably don't need to tell you how great Discworld is.
I struggled to physically read it even though I have the box set so I broke down and got the audiobook. It is SO much better that way for me personally. I had to do the same for Sun Eater. Definitely enjoying it so far!
Literature preservation for all marginalized people looks like it's about to get very important. Can't rely on ebooks, even The Cloud is iffy, so this article examines what's helped literature when times got historically rough...and some mistakes of archival forefathers that can be avoided now.
Navola by Paolo Bacigalupi. -> In the arena of a Guy Gavriel Kay. Still not 100% involved at 10% in; Paolo is strong with the environmental noir sci-fi - could be this is a Renaissance Noir which might be great
Working through Demon in White due to your praise for The Sun Eater series…and being a hardcover snob, due to the stunning @thebrokenbinding.bsky.social editions. Been digging the series, a lot of Dune vibes in it, which I also love.
The Golden Compass! I've tried reading it twice before, and each time I just randomly dropped it before the end of part 1; no reason why other than life just got tough and I didn't have the motivation to read.
Sometimes its a simple as life just happens. Not a books fault or maybe it is 🤷 either way don't feel bad just be happy you still get to experience for the first time!
I just finished reading Alien Clay by Adrian Tchaikovsky, and it was fantastic. In a holding pattern until Wind and Truth comes out. Might pick up a novella until then.
Just finished I’m Afraid You’ve Got Dragons, and am now reading The Wood at Midwinter while trying to comb my TBR for something short enough that it won’t interrupt AT’s Days of Shattered Faith dropping on Dec 5. The struggle isn’t much of a struggle, but it’s real.
I am listening to Elantris for the first time. I have gotten used to the narrator. Prepping for Stormlight 5. And I read the first two Riftwar Cycle by Raymond E Feist. And after Stormlight 5 I am starting the Sun Eater series.
I just found a series on audible about a vacuum cleaner (roomba)that gets isekai’d to a world of demons and magic! Loving it …”all the dust that falls” by Zaifyr
Trying to take my time with Demon in White while also trying to jam the first Dungeon Crawler Carl book into my ears, while feeling the impending doom of whatever Wind and Truth is going to bring in 3 weeks.
Dune by Frank Herbert because my best friend is on a quest to help me find a science fiction story I enjoy because I've had not the best luck with that genre. So far it's pretty good. Here is my book and my sweet baby Mittens
Finally have gotten around to reading the Expanse novels from James S.A. Corey. On book 4 currently. Just finished up an 8 book binge of Adrian Tshaikovsky including the Final Architecture series and Dog Soldiers.
Just about to start Dan Jones’s ‘Henry V’, but just finished ‘Dune: Heir of Caladan’. Even with variable quality with the BH/KJA Dune books, I just enjoy being in the world.
I just started Exodus: The Archimedes Engine by Peter F. Hamilton. I'm also in the middle of The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. LeGuin for a book club and Kingdom of Characters: The Language Revolution That Made China Modern by Jing Tsu.
When I can peel myself away from writing the next best mediocre portal fantasy, I'm reading (a.k.a finally started) "Elantris" (11%) and reading "Sky Lord" (28%) <---indie isekai junk food for the brain.
Just started the audiobook for Lefthanded Booksellers of London by Garth Nix.
Working on physical copy of White Horse by Erika Wurth and it's really good so far.
And the ebook for Warbunny by Christopher St John, which is also really good, but I'm so slow at reading ebooks

I'm glad to see you're here, just killed my Twitter account.

Passing the time with yet another Malazan reread, this time via audio book.
It’s… surprisingly fun? I’m a little lost here and there, but I’m digging what I’m reading
Not as funny on audiobook for me, because I can't pause to digest a mental image so easily, but still one of the GOAT.
Goddamn I love her worldbuilding.

Twisted bug inspired madness. Loving it.

Currently reading Languishing by Corey Keyes.
Want to read The Sunlit Man by Brandon Sando next.
