Do you get it yet, law firms?
What’s happening isn’t an isolated threat to Paul Weiss or Covington or Perkins Coie.
It’s an existential threat to the independence of the legal profession.
You’re a fool if you think you won’t be next.
Say something. Do something.

The president is supposed to work with congress to pass his agenda.
You know? A Russian puppet state under a Russian puppet regime.
Cause that is what the USA is now.
I call it #UDPRA the United Democratic People's Republic of Ameristan.
an autocratic *Russian puppet regime.*
The second step is to make everybody else call it what it is. ESPECIALLY the media who are helping to keep up the pretense.

Rudy is paying off his large debt for defaming the women in Georgia.
Maybe he and Trump can get cells next to each other.
Never make a deal with the devil !
And bending the knee even once let’s the fascists know they can make you do it again and again and lower each time.
No law professional is safe now
Wake up America, it's happening here, right now!
Trump targeted the firm for actions taken by a *former* partner.
I hope he got a massive payment or else sues them into oblivion.
Even if the President himself has immunity, aren't the people around him basically setting themselves up for prosecution under state racketeering laws when they pull this crap?

If they can’t stand up for themselves, why would clients trust them to stand up for them?

It's crazy how crude and open all of this is happening.
Clear as day.
One political party is completely compromised. The other is nearly paralyzed by billionaires and the money in the system.
*they can't all win elections, but many can be part of (coalition) govts & if not they can still influence decision making
Then, a new union will be forged.
That’s fucked up.
Then there is no one to fight back!
Sole practitioner here, and though I agree, I also think it is axiomatically our job to stand for what our profession stands for. Major ABA mobilization is called for here, and if a special assessment of members is needed to pay for it I, for one, would not object.
Our various Laurence Tribes can convene to chart a course and our various Williams & Connollys can execute it in court, with well-chosen spokespeople making the media case. This is a 5-alarm fire, threatening to burn the right of the people to redress wrongs done by their government.
Executive Orders can impact ONLY the enforcement of current laws. If there is no law cited, they are worthless pieces of paper and should be ignored. Trump has lost every court battle but one. He’d lose those, as well.
There is also the issue of selling the rest of society out.
This time it's not fake news, it's for real... and we thought Bill Barr was bad!
Living to brought down by some criminal in our White House?
(Not Trump's word that he won't, that's for sure.)
Individual firms and lawyers should fight back, of course, but acting collectively would be more powerful and effective.

"Retribution" in the White House has reached deeper into local and state politics than realized!
His actions and words outline the destruction we are watching!
WE must act locally, at the state level and nationally!
"Retribution"must go!
I believe this applies to law firms and universities. And maybe to all Americans. It's clear Trump will take aim at one target at a time. Who's next?
Even if challenged it looks as the courts are powerless to enforce their judgements as law enforcement and military are under the direction of the orange dictator
Because bullying worked, we are going to continue bullying.
