After many years, the parasitic worms’ ambitious plan to thwart their long-time foe, modern medicine, is finally coming to fruition. All they needed was the right host...
besides the potential damage (if this actually came to pass), it will distract the general public's attention while they are being robbed blind by Trump et al.
They want to kill people and decrease the surplus population, there by lowering the demand on social programs and funding, resulting in lower taxes for the rich, which will give them the money for AI, robots & automation they don't have to give benefits to.
And then they’ll start whining about how “nobody wants to work anymore” when there aren’t enough menial laborers to hire when the autonomous robot slave pipe dream doesn’t pan out.
The so called "family values" party insists on all babies being born so they can die from preventable diseases or get shot in school. America is truly in decline. These people are sick.
When he won I went out and got my kid his Covid/flu shots, fearful they’re the last time they’ll be available. Thank god he has all the rest of his vaccines.
And if this actually happens (and continues into the future) I will recommend to him that he not have kids, at least not in the US.
It’s genuinely terrifying just how effective antivax propaganda became once the movement fully aligned with white supremacists and eugenics. Now people are forsaking medical advice because they’re convinced their kids have Superior Aryan Genes™️ that will spare them from the consequences of illness.
From the regulatory standpoint, I would expect that actually descheduling vaccines will be nearly impossible, changing the rules around whether they're okay or not will end up mired in massive admin law fights
BUT. The CDC is the agency that runs the schedule and the testing.
That getting turned into garbage (which is not just possible but probable) is probably going to end up with the American Pediatrics Association issuing competing guidance.
The real fucking mess we have is when insurance sides with the APA instead of the government.
People completely misread Insurance's interests here: Vaccines are cheap and a great way to avoid massive pediatric hospitalizations that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. They'll pay, and they'll want a schedule that works.
It’s like the holocaust without the ovens (and I’m not trying to insult or make light of that at all)! But seriously, it’s like they’re trying to umalive us ON PURPOSE!
Per the article Trump says he would end certain vaccines if “I” think they’re dangerous. If “I” think they’re ineffective. Ok Dr Trump. It’s the end of expertise and the beginning of the advancement of crackpots and snake oil salesmen. All at the expense of our lives.
It's not that the vaccines won't be available. The difference is if the government doesn't mandate it then insurance doesn't have to pay for it. So it will be out of pocket expenses for people that want to have their children vaccinated.
I mean, are you sure vaccines won't be available? RFK's lawyer petitioned the FDA to revoke polio vaccine approval, seems like something that would take them off the market if the FDA head becomes a Trump appointee & grants the request
I need a bit of clarification on your comment. Not quite sure but am following your thoughts. If RFK’s lawyer petition is successful would FDA take the vaccines off the market making vaccines less available due to cost or no longer manufactured?
I'm not sure if that would mean they're no longer allowed to produce them, or if it would mean only that insurance wouldn't cover them.
I'm not sure the country has ever been in this particular situation before so it's hard to predict exactly what could happen
It also means that some people won't get them. Vaccines aren't perfect. You are likely safer as an unvaccinated person in a community of vaccinated people than as a vaccinated person in a community of unvaccinated people.
The worst news headlines coming our way, in my more than 60 years on this planet...unbelievable the suffering and harm that will be inflicted, mostly on children.
I can't be angry anymore. I'm exhausted. I can take care of myself and the people I care about. If people don't want to save themselves, I can't make them.
I just feel numb. And the gloating and “owning the Libs” that still seems to color most of the rhetoric is definitely exhausting. They seem to have a lot of magical thinking about what will happen, and that it won’t happen to them.
What are you basing this on? Trump's been president before, and to the extent he cared about popular support for anything he did, he'd just say it was broadly popular or the media was just lying about it.
And Trump says he'll decide. And there's an article that the Ohio Senate passed a bill to force hospitals to administer Ivermectin and other treatments requested by patients.
WTF do we need doctor's for? I've been saying this right along--politicians are practicing medicine w/o a license. Sue them!
Not good! 😮💨…
I feel like we need to get some practical problem solving solutions out there for ppl that are not listening to music as the titanic hitting the iceberg.
I could be off, but precedent for people acting complacent shortly before a horrible situations is fairly common. Any ideas? 💡
One of the reasons for the conspiracy theories about vaccines causing autism is that autism is currently being widely over diagnosed. Autism Speaks, while a well meaning group, is guilty of spreading inflated numbers.
/1
Diagnosticians have admitted to diagnosing people who don’t quite “meet the criteria just to get them services.” This is dangerous because it helps fuel conspiracy theories & it wrongly puts a label on people for a disorder they don’t have so they’re not being treated for the proper diagnosis./2
Too many diagnosticians rush to diagnose people without a thorough work up or battery of tests & observations. I had a student a couple of years ago whose grandmother thought he had autism because a psychologist who saw him once told her he was./3
You can’t make that kind of diagnosis after one visit with a patient. This kid had no signs nor symptoms of autism. Our school psychologist did a full battery of tests & observations that found he did not have autism./4
It isn’t just autism diagnosticians over diagnose. There is a history of them doing this with other disorders like chronic depression, bipolar, ADHD, & other disorders. In 10 years of special education teaching, I’ve seen kids misdiagnosed often. /5
I think they want a return to the Victorian social attitudes that were prevalent back before birth control & childhood vaccination, so they’re trying to replicate the material conditions to force it to work. 🤦
JFC. Just got 4 vaccines last week and am seriously considering getting some additional boosters. If these lunatics get their way, we’ll be awash in lethal outbreaks within the year.
I see what you're sharing and understand the implications; I just have no faith that any court will ever bring these people their richly-deserved justice.
The rapid development of highly effective Covid vaccines was the one unambiguous success of Trump's first term. How bitterly ironic that he's disavowing it in his second.
That's not how vaccination works. You need a sufficiently large population to take it. So many children would die including those of the rich. What an act of abject wickedness.
Yes, and…it’s difficult to imagine a “policy change” that will bite the maggots harder in the ass (with apologies to the people who will really pay the price).
Especially not children. The adults who believe this already got their childhood vaccinations & won’t face as severe consequences. The babies who will suffer & die from contracting preventable childhood diseases with potential longterm consequences are totally defenseless and never asked for this.
this is what we Americans ( as a whole) voted for knowingly, that and gunfire everywhere... we voted to dismantle the safe guards we've taken for granted. It'll be a slight surprise to some to find that the full faith of our government will be in klepto-coin
This mess that so many people enabled with their votes 🗳 is already worse than I imagined. I want to hold all the children in my arms, you know? I think of my Senators here in Massachusetts, Ed Markey and especially Elizabeth Warren...
and my Representative, Katherine Clark; we're all holding 💔 the children in our arms. And the parents, the childless cat ladies, the dog-walkers, the woman who cooks my veggie omelet bites order at Dunkin Donuts on a Thursday afternoon...
Being an autistic person right now is genuinely scary. Let's say that RFK JR is right (which he absolutely isn't). The fundamental premise is that illnesses such as Measles and Polio, which can be lethal, are better than autism, which means that he believes its better to die than be autistic.
I know Bergstrom knows this, the study that originated this belief was a horrific study. The study's author Wakefield (not Dr. Wakefield since he was removed from the UK Medical Author) had conflicts of interest, manipulated data, and was cruel towards its participants.
Wakefield also refused to do a single follow up study and, in fact, no subsequent studies have shown their to be a link between vaccination and autism. This is the study currently from the Lancet (where it was initially published)'s website
Nah we already did this 20 years ago. That's the great thing about the literature - you can just look out up. No need to spend time, money or other resources on this - we don't need to ask any politicians how they feel about it, the evidence is already in print.
It's terrifying that they not only have this power, but are stupid enough to use it. They're old enough for polio to be a living memory. Do they really need reminders of what it was like?
As far as he's concerned, it's fine. The feelings of others are not relevant (I'm not even sure he's aware that other people have feelings that might differ from his own).
He doesn't care about the numbers and doesn't understand them. He's talking about looking at the numbers because he knows that's what smart people are supposed to say about things like this.
He's "looking at" everything. Sometimes he's "looking at it very strongly".
counterpoint to Trump's rhetorical denial that he causes any pain or loss to any American is that Trump has no feel for our freedoms or our safety, and that women had a nationwide right + reliance interest + freedom that Trump's justices stripped away
This is frightening. A dark age of anti science is looming. First vaccines, food safety, denying the science of climate, then who knows? Pushing "natural" cures for cancer?
This infuriates me. My family cemetery has an entire section filled with children’s graves from a measles outbreak in the early 1900s. Why would anyone want to go back to that?
Likely because they don’t remember what those times were like or assume they’re special & it won’t affect them, if they’re regular people who fell for the propaganda. If they’re billionaire politicians, it’s because they can cough up the extra dough to pay for shots & will profit from hiked prices.
I'm pretty sure more people are diagnosed as autistic because diagnostic and screening tools have greatly improved. They were always there, we just couldn't name their struggles. Now we can so we can support them better.
Also, the fact that autism is so widespread implies that there’s an important niche in the human ecosystem that autistic people fill, regardless of these eugenicist quacks’ insistence that autistic people are inferior and need to be wiped out.
Diversity increases our species’ overall chance of survival, whether that’s genetic diversity protecting us from being wiped out by a single illness like Cavendish bananas, or diversity of perspectives/skillsets ensuring communities survive & thrive.
Not to mention that humanity is a compassionate species by nature. There’s evidence that prehistoric and ancient communities didn’t just abandon their people to die if they were disabled by hereditary condition, injury, or old age.

The drunk.

By the ability of folks with 6th grade reading level who watch Fox news solely to opt in to killing their kids and destroying herd immunity.
No-one else puts the entire US population in as much danger as the parasite-riddled crackpot who wants to roll the clock back to a time when https://ourworldindata.org/child-mortality-in-the-past.
I really will not feel that bad when their children start dying from preventable disease. It's the only way they will ever learn.
That's what makes me so angry at the anti-vaxxers: their stupid decision isn't just limited to them and their children, but to EVERYONE.
They didn't learn yet. Hot stove therapy may help.

we, the people
the non-billionaires are the MAJORITY
once WE all understand this, we regain autonomy
They will ban the use of federal dollars for vaccination
The rich will still have their kids vaccinated.
Only the poor will suffer.
They picked and chose data that suited their case
They falsified facts.
The British Medical Journal has published a *series* of articles on the exposure of the fraud,
which appears to have taken place for financial gain.”
which reminded me of "everyone wanted Roe gone, everybody's happy because now it's up to the states"
Trump never acknowledges that he has caused any problem to any American
So everyone is happy now.
But Trump claims that he’s looking at whether vaccines are dangerous or beneficial, and says he wants to see #
I believe his approach is dangerous because there’s already plenty evidence that RFK Jr is way off base
Trump wants to head off criticism but isn’t openly callous here
He's "looking at" everything. Sometimes he's "looking at it very strongly".
vaccine issue may be less direct but same logic
He is well aware that vaccines are a great success
but is trying to head off criticism from low-social-trust supporters
sadly, coverage may help Trump deflect criticism
Just as his “it’s all good, states will decide” worked for him
Ergo: if the government doesn't mandate it then insurance won't have to pay for it.
