I quite liked them. Hadn't realised they succeeded Pans People and were before Legs and Co. Could have sworn they were mid 80s but must be my old memory letting me down and confusing them with the lot that came after Legs and Co whose name now escapes me! Must be the heat and my age 🤣
Ruby Flipper largely ended up being axed by management because of racist complaints being directed towards one member in particular (Floyd), despite the protests of choreographer Flick Colby, though she had the last laugh by 'smuggling' Floyd into later Legs and Co. routines.
I'm just glad that interpretive-dance-wank died a death. Some of the positions were just painful. (Waits for @flups.bsky.social to mention seeing them at Glasto as well)
Having just watched this episode.... I think there was "something" for the mums also!
The intro to the Beach Boys must go down as one of the best 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

3 books worth, I believe, for the bonus.

every town had its own "club classic" and this was ours!
Definitely could have done without the Ruby Flipper "interpretation" !
No one asked me for my opinion, probably because I was only 2, but I could told them most of this was shite, even back then.
