I started it around the beginning of the pandemic, when I was also reading Camus' The Plague (meh, highly overrated) and John M. Barry, The Great Influenza (a million thumbs up 👍), and it was just one too many pandemic books. But maybe now, post-pandemic . . .
I just finished it Sunday. I'm not sure when I started it, but it was at least October. Unfortunately, I don't put much time into reading on a daily basis.
The Stand is excellent! I aptly read this just as Covid-19 started to sweep the planet. It was surreal to be reading in the garden with loud birdsong and no noise pollution due to the UK lockdowns. I'll never forget that experience.
The Stand is well worth reading, especially in the special edition that restored much of what was cut in the original publication because the publisher didn't believe the public would buy a King story that ran a thousand pages.
What if I judge that they're really awesome sleeping partners and you must be pretty cool to be sleeping with them? (please don't judge me for my outdated adjectives)
