Isn’t the birdsong app a delight! We get about 9 different birds in our garden daily (living in Aveyron, Southern France). Yesterday a common fire crest was unusual. We love it. Also adding to migration research at Cornell.
I am having breakfast in the garden and according to the app can hear a song thrush, robin, blackcap, spotted flycatcher, great tit, and greater spotted woodpecker.
My bird app is great! It helped us to find two grey wagtails yesterday - we couldn’t see them at first but kept looking because the app insisted they were there 😊
Yesterday late evening I was clearing a small area in the veg patch, surrounded by trees I could hear a pair of birds calling to each other & very close by, but I couldn't I.D them, I'll have to check this app out, I also heard bees in a concrete block wall, sounded very busy cooling things down,
In my garden one day and heard a very different bird call so turned Merlin App on. Nothing. Didn’t register the bird call at all.
Then I realised that the little dog two doors down had a new squeaky toy!

It's kinda fun when there's three different birds all going at it, and the list lights up so you can see who's talking..
