That's what I'd like to know, I get people momentarily had a moment of gee I made a shitty choice at the polls. They've seen the truth in action and STILL support him.
It's almost like it was never about the high price of eggs and that was just an excuse to support a racist and his racist policies.
The only thing I can think of is that there's a shocking number of people who only "buy American" and have zero money invested in the stock market (or don't realize that their 401(k), if they have one, is mostly stock-based), so it hasn't dawned on them yet that this shit's going to hurt them too.
I think the cultists will support him no matter what he does, as long as he's getting revenge on black people and other people they don't like. They would saw off their own legs to "own the libs". It's not the economy that motivates them (even if they say it is), it's hate.
It's painfully clear that it was never the economy. Yes, prices and inflation were a concern... in 2021 and 2022. Things leveled off in 2023 and the economy was on the right track in 2024, it was improving better than every other developed nation post-COVID... 1/2
The sad part is companies/corporations/universities could have done the right thing and benefitted. Now, they won't be accepted because they made a business mistake and want to correct it. They made a MORAL MISTAKE that we can not forgive. This was a one-shot deal.
Just remember Costco has/had an award winning "DEI" program for suppliers, they are US companies which are diverse in true ownership. Check the supplier against the website for accurate info on the companies. Don't count them out just because they are US companies.
Got my membership this week. The lady at the desk asked what had brought me in and I said, “Politics! You guys chose to stand by your DEI policies.” She thanked me for my honesty.
🇨🇦 We've been members for 30 years. They treat their employees ethically and with respect. Pay them a fair wage & benefits. After what I've been reading, we made a very good choice.
Not sure how, but I was under the impression that Costco was based in Texas. Just looked and saw the company is based in Washington State. Makes more sense now how the company is making good choices, thriving, and has the balls to stand up to Trump's purge of anything not white/male. Respect!!! 💙
They're a good example of what happens when you do the right thing regardless of what everyone else is doing. So far, they are one of a few who understand the importance of DEI, especially in a diverse nation such as the US.
They're FOS. They don't hire enough blacks. They only hire 9% blacks. It's one of the worst stores in terms of hiring blacks. CVS and Walmart hire 18% blacks. Look it up. I was wondering how can they be "DEI" when there are a whopping 3 black workers at my Costco. I live in 41% black Harrisburg PA!😂
Costco has a lot of organic produce in great shape: strawberries, pears, greens. And a Costco manager at the Touhy Ave. branch told me you can order online and get a wider selection of items and get them delivered. The store was popping when I went there last Friday. My bill was $86.00.
Fear, misunderstanding, and discomfort have fueled the backlash. But what if, instead of arguing, we listened? What if we asked, "How can we move forward together?"
I’ve moved almost all purchases there. Sure I might have enough toilet paper, windex, and red cups for the next 8-12 months, but I have decent enough storage and I’m saving a ton of money too! Not to mention they usually have nice wine 🍷 for decent prices!
#BoycottCostco for their support for the genocide

That's right and any business that shows they like the diversity of we the people should be awarded everyone's business while the ones that don't should be ghost towns and in decline! Right On! yall show em what fur!
I wish I could like this over and over! Same in my family! Been a Sams member since my got my membership in the early 90s. Canceled it Nov 7 and severed looked back!
No, Walmart hires 18% blacks & own Sam's. Costco only 9% blacks. I was shocked. So much for "DEI." I live in 41% black Harrisburg PA & my Costco has 3 blacks. My husband said he assumed all the blacks were hiding in back. Uh, no.
I worked for Sam’s as well and Walmart exploits their workers! The Club Mgrs make between 200- 400k in bonus alone. Workers can’t live off their pay and Assistant mgrs cap at 12k in bonus. One of the reasons I quit! 1 mgr does not work 200-400 times harder than their 7 Assistant mgrs.
Absolutely. I use WinCo and Grocery Outlet for my shopping. Occasionally Safeway because Kroger had attempted to acquire them, plus it’s in my neighborhood and the employees are Union
Kroger is a behemoth-they’ve been caught on a hot mic or earnings call saying they’re raising prices because they can. Not ‘supply chain issues’ or ‘fair market demand’. Just straight up avarice. I’m a poor, so this hits very hard. It really is the second gilded age. Gonna end very similarly.
The store doesn’t have to support DEI practices, if going elsewhere is not an option for you. Times are tough and we can’t expect everyone to make the same sacrifices, as long as you do your part in the resistance don’t worry where you shop.
Every single stock that I track was deep into the red today and then at the bottom of the list there was one stock that was in the green... Costco. I love this!
And during recessions & tough times, a place like Costco already a good well-known well-liked co. always thrive because people come in to get the larger portions which saves even MORE money than they would. Even the worst recession, people still have to eat. So they come to The Bargain Warehouses
I think it’s too late for Target. The brand has shown their true colors. I don’t care what they do going forward, they’ll never have my business again. Hello from NC👋🏻
They pay a living wage and actually try to keep costs low instead of saying everyone can get away with rising prices right now, so I'm gonna just because, like other corporations do. They were doing good things to begin with, so we shouldn't forget that even if down the road things change.
They had a big rush today at my local store. Wondering what could have caused this to happen. So many Teslas in the parking lot I thought I would have to give a straight arm salute. What were they worried fElon might have misled them?
About those Teslas… Many people bought Teslas because they were trying to limit fossil fuel consumption before Elon went nuts. I believe taking our anger out on Tesla owners is misguided for that reason. Of course, I think cyber trucks were never part of the climate action vs fossil fuel equation! 🤣
2 different things. COSCO is a Chinese shipping company. Cosco products are made by a US company with offices and factories in China, Malaysia, Central & South America and many other parts of the world. Many of their products are made with steel and aluminum. Thank Trump for the price increase!
The movement to shop Canadian is strong and I agree: Talk around here is to support Costco because they are not caving to Trump and sticking with DEI and supporting their workers.
Whatever Costco is doing especially in Canada, they're doing it well. I noticed some are just not buying American made goods, but Costco sells not only US products.
Only Costco's CEO (at one point) had a one page contract that allowed him to be fired for cause. Jelinek wants employees to view Costco as a career rather than a job. “We want people to stay long term, we want people to make higher wages, to afford homes; it's just the right thing to do.”
my friend's son was seasonal over the holidays. they really liked him, so they offered him...a chance to do more seasonal work until a full time position opened.
I go in for 2 items these days rather than run to the other store. Got bread and shampoo. Seriously they are so damn efficient I get in quicker than the other places
Right - I have been saying for years that I can spent $200 and get through the cash faster at Costco than buying a litre (Canadian here) of milk at Safeway! And it pleases me that they are unionized and paid a good wage.
I have a mini warehouse that stocks a lot of Costco items, which is 90 percent what I buy, it would be over 120 mile roundtrip to a real Costco. The Markup is not much and the quality is worth it.
I am proud of myself - the bread is so good ! I figure the parking lot is a pain but once you get in and know where you grab everything I can get in and out pretty fast.
I wish we had a Costco in my New Mexico City. We only have Sam’s Club. I support Costco but the almost 100 miles round trip is a bit much for me at 76 years old, my car and the price of gas. Costco we need you in Southern New Mexico.
Yeah, calling us "members" rather than "customers" conveys a sense of shared responsibility. Amazon never called me a member, seems that was a good enough reason to dump them! 😁
Exactly. Through my training and orientation with Costco, they always made the point that you always mention the people shopping there as members. It's an important partnership. We're all in on it together.
Love!! Definitely the place to support. Went to renew my membership and gave my granddaughter a tour…she’s so cute she said “now we don’t have to shop at any other stores, this place has everything we need, and they feed us snacks while we shop”…she wants the greenhouse…she’s 9. She gets it.
Who woulda guessed that most Americans actually care about the fair treatment of others?
Always good to have a reminder that the people in charge are a loud minority.
I used to shop at Costco, but after moving to the area I'm presently in, in Indianduh, I would have to drive over an hour to get to one. It would be difficult on a regular basis. I'm stuck with Walmart, Kroger, and Aldi's. Meijer's is close but more expensive.
We started going almost exclusively there for as many things as we can. They have good policies for labor and they’re on the right side of politics. It’s a damn good company.
We stopped shopping at Target and go to Costco pretty much exclusively. I still like Sprouts.Costco is always jammed here on Renaissance in Albuquerque.
I saw a few brain dead trump idiots in Costco last weekend.. proudly sporting their ignorance. I wondered if the got the memo that Costco is woke and that they don’t belong. 🤷🏻♀️
I keep forgetting to join. Once members but we don't buy bulk so let membership expire. Going to rejoin just because they stood against Felon47 DEI policy.
It’s was 75 for the basic one…if you get a friend to split it with you, you can get two people on one membership. I got the one for 130 because you can get car and home insurance through them, there’s also some other benefits, like rebates if you spend a certain amount.
I've been sticking with them and avoiding buying elsewhere cause most of elsewhere has recently had strikes that didn't end in fairer wages and treatment.
Last time I was there I said to staff at the membership desk I was sticking with Costco despite it being an American company (I’m Canadian) because they refused to cancel their DEI policies. I said “I don’t know if anyone cares what I think” and the staff person said “I care” and smiled.
I'm with you, I'm sticking with Costco in Canada - although I wish they'd up the proportion of non U.S. products. It also would be nice if they stopped stocking some of my U.S. favorites so I don't need to feel sad not buying them.
Nah man, the CEO of Costco is on another level - he threatened to kill one of his money people who insisted on raising the price of hot dogs, because he didn't care that they sold at a loss. That is one genuinely good dude who is not a billionaire because he gives so much money away....
That was two CEOs ago. He passed the baton to the guy he threatened who has been pushing the company towards the way everyone else does it and picked a successor who does the same. They're not the worst, but they are slowly shifting towards it. This DEI thing is a marketing tactic. They don't care.
They do, but they have scaled back the raises they have traditionally bragged about and cut labor despite sales increasing since last year, basically expecting more sales with less hands than the year before. The whole "we care about people" schtick applies to the shareholders mainly.
....plus, as a queer, disabled, Indigenous, female Canadian, supporting Costco's DEI initiatives-that give equal chances to people just like me-is more important to me than having my elbows up, just this once. 💜
because Costco is a well-run, HONEST business and their success speaks for itself - they don't have to lie, cheat on their taxes, steal from the public or bankrupt casinos to be successful. Just honest, hard work gets it done. Who knew? #jailTrump
If you don't have a Costco membership you can still shop online, but there will be a surcharge. Still worth looking before you buy somewhere else to see how the pricing works out and if you can afford to support them that way! I bought something online without a membership and it was a good deal.
I've always had a Costco membership, but I hardly used it because I hated my local one's parking lot so much. But now I go almost every other week, since I stopped buying anything from Target and Amazon.
Ford's sales dropped 1.3% after announcing - without being asked to do so - that they were dropping all DEI efforts.
This was the company that made the Very Gay Raptor and ran a program to assist Black young adults to become lawyers. The CEO is on the board of Harley-Davidson which also axed DEI.
So it would seem. It's a shame though, the prior CEO & board really ensured the entire company walked the walk, ensuring that even management jobs were reflected the population and rest of the workforce in diversity.
I joined because of their keeping DEI policy in spite of pressure from this administration. The nearest one is still not at all convenient to me but I will support them!

I've always wanted to shop there.

Costco and Kroger for the win!!

Price gauging isn’t illegal, unfortunately, but hopefully we can get leadership in the future than can change that.
I suggest finding a small local grocery store or anywhere that fits in your budget.

I can get items I need for my business and better quality for 1/3 the price. I plow the saving back in.
I wouldn’t be as successful if it wasn’t for Costco.

Not a republican to be seen.
It was busier and friendlier.
