Have you heard of infinity train? Truly mind bending and full of surprises. Unfortunately wiped from all streamers but I can get you a link to all seasons 😉
Right, I'm sure you can get my want for some specificity.
I am an enjoyer of cartoons but the only non-anime, for kids stuff I've watched recently is Transformers and a little of that Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man.
But also I recommend Lazarus as a new (currently weekly) anime that is not "extremely weeb" or whatever - it's from the Bebop lad + the John Wick lad directing action.
Disclaimer: I haven't watched it but have heard lots of positive chat about it and just realised it's the new Mike Judge thing, and so it's next on my watch list (it's on the Channel 4 site).
I'm bad at watching stuff currently but also slowly working my way through Delicious In Dungeon (aka Dungeon Meshi) on Netflix - v simple premise that seems to just keep adding greater & greater depth to the concept with each episode.
Believe it or not, Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse from a couple years ago is very good. Robin is always watching Teen Titans Go and that's surprisingly funny sometimes. And I haven't seen it, but I've heard good things about Jellystone, where Space Ghost popped up occasionally.
Teen Titans Go is going for a good while now but it's great fun. The 'TT Go To The Movies' film is better than most superhero films in the past decade. The 'Mickey Mouse' shorts series from 2013 is fantastic (follow up / spin offs after it finished are good too but not as imaginative).
I will never shut up about City of Ghosts on Netflix. It's about a bunch of kids who find and interview ghosts, but the 'ghosts' are actually just people telling their real-life stories or bits of Los Angeles' history. I adore it.

What sort of cartoon, like, who is it for etc?

Starts off a little slow but it soon becomes clear that it’s a silly (in a good way) made by a team of giant nerds who care about what they’re making.
