I feel I need to stress that when I say this I mean you’re uncultured for not sitting through these amazing cinematic masterpieces that my lord and savior Hideo Kojima put together for you. (And this is a joke please do not attack me you are cultured enough)
He's such a mixed bag to me. First he starts showing me creepy invisible monsters making handprints in the mud and I'm like THIS IS SO CREEPY IT'S AWESOME and then he shows me that guy in the dorky skull mask and I'm like okay you lost me, buddy
not mgs but death stranding's entire three (possibly four?) hour long ending sequence was ABSOLUTELY INEXCUSABLE especially the part where you were just doing nothing running around the beach for like nearly thirty minutes while the credits played
At first, I would only put up with the length of them because sneaking around is intense. I did grow to appreciate Kojima’s style, but those cutscenes refuse to end sometimes, lol..
Nah cause why do people skip dialogue and cutscenes. They can sit through anime and movies but can’t watch a video game cutscene that’s just as artfully and lovingly made? I never understood it. This is coming from a cutscene enjoyer.
I think everyone should run thru the series, and really pay attention to 2, 4, and Rising. Lot of warnings there that we're living in now, which were predicted before any social media or YouTube. People staying in their little ponds and leaking whatever truth and lie suits them is so real.
Please no more forced cutscenes I'm begging you it's literally torture whoever wants to watch it can, give the people options you retards, we can read up the plot on our wikis/fandoms, they are quite accurate ^^ we are happy to play this way, it's the links
They've got cutscenes so long now that my Xbox thinks I've quit playing and fades the screen out. Some long enough to activate my controller's automatic shut-off.
You better not be getting ready to say anything bad about the single greatest game ever made. That's scientific fact, by the way, not opinion. It's been proven with science.
I would *never* speak bad about a game series that I love and have played and I’m patiently (impatiently) waiting for the Snake Eater remake to release.
You're in my top five favorite posters. Because you keep it real. Of course, you might really be a fat guy named Gus, who picks cheeze curl crumbs from his beard. Wouldn't matter. You're still amazing.
I know you occasionally get down on yourself. If that is part of your content, great. But, if you really have doubts about how awesome you are, stop it. You're awesome. It's not opinion. It's scientific fact. Proven by science.
I remember playing mgs2 on ps2 as a kid and trying to explain to my parents that "I know dinner is ready, but i can't pause it and it's really important to the story." It didn't go well
On my knees begging for Kojima to let this cutscene end and he looks me dead in the eye and says “nah, I’m gonna explain why that one guy had a chimp for 20 mins real quick, I promise it’s important”
I literally JUST replied to a YouTube video about how games suck these days and AAA games want to be “walking simulators” because they prioritize long cutscenes and narrative over fun. but I was there when everyone complained about MGS 1 having too many cutscenes and then MGS 2 had even more.
When I played Metal Gear Solid 4 for the first time I was enthralled by the cutscenes. I replayed the game several times just so I could enjoy the mid-game and end-game "movies" over and over. When they'd start, I'd sit back and snack on something 😁 Completely and absolutely loved that game 🙃
I have known much stress in my life but “I know mom, I KNOW… but the cutscene is still going and I haven’t saved yet!” is a unique and piquant flavor of stress that only the connoisseurs know
Death Stranding too. Knew I was close to the end so I decided to power through. Forgetting who made the game. Three hours of boss fights, cut scenes and epilogues later, credits finally rolled and it was 2 am on a work night 😩
You gotta carve out some time for Hideo Kojima games. Hes gonna take you on a cinematic adventure every single time. I think he was supposed to making a movie with A24 for Death Stranding actually.
I think I heard about that, and I know they’re working on a sequel to the game. I was actually mad finishing the game lol. It just kept going (& the last fight was very unfun). I should have known better, not my first Kojima game, but I guess it had been long enough since the last one that I forgot
I just know I gotta put the controller down, put my feet up, and watch the show. I haven’t played death stranding yet actually. I’m getting conflicting reports on whether I should or not.
It's kinda brutal at some points. I thought it was alright. The land navigation was interesting to figure out. I played it offline so I didn't get any of the online assistance from other players (the game migrates in random ladders, grappling points, bridges, etc from other games to help you)
My friend never finished it, he found it boring. I thought it was alright. Definitely a walking simulator more than anything, so it’s pretty slow paced. But the story way interesting, I thought.
Ds director’s cut HOLY MOTHER
I thought they were long the first couple times and didnt mind. Had to start folding laundry with it on in the background… WHAT?

Kojima taught me patience.
That’s the gameplay. Not the ending.
Made a promise to myself to never again play a Kojima game past 9PM just to be on the safe side.
I've actually watched all of them even on replays.
I'm hardcore like that. Or just insane.
I didn’t know the final cutscene was over an hour long at the time, but I was prepared nonetheless
(Proceeds to retcon the last 20 hours).
Longest old dude scene I've ever seen. 10/10 game.
