As a PhD candidate I fundamentally understand how devastating this is. Longitudinal studies are so important and so hard to do. The researchers have to trade short term publications for long term results. And to end a 30 year study is just sickening.

It is my opinion they did not like her plans more than they disliked a Black-Indian woman as President. And I think there was a lot of protest non-votes and protest votes (Stein, etc.). We do not know yet how many people voted down ballot only. But I heard there was a lot of that.

When people were surveyed on plans for the president during the campaign, MOST people liked her plans and did not like his. It was a Washington Post article. But it was very clear her economic plans were very popular.
