He is a Newcastle fan too. Some oil money I guess eh?

Thanks man. I know who you are. You are blinded by your Arsenal hatred.

Please as media people..call it what it is..incompetence. dont beat around the bush? We have sport integrity here..for the love of this game.
comment in response to post
If every fan looks beyond their team and start calling out incompetence something can happen. And media? How are they not writing much on these bizzare calls?
comment in response to post
Yellow? Yes. Red? Please.. Are u kidding me? Let's keep Spurs Arsenal thingy away..this is too soft.

Its bizarre Seb. Whats VAR for if not this? There is clear power dynamics and some referee like Oliver are never overturned even if it's a clear mistake.

I suspect Kolo Muani to Juventus will start a chain which could benefit us.
comment in response to post
I think he will further forward LCM'ish role. Or left of a diamond.

I always felt the problem with our attack is not the formation. But the tempo.
comment in response to post
If a game which has not consequence on real world affect them so much. Do they even need any attention? There are far more important things happening. And this game was supposed to be a escapade and simple entertainment. Strength to Kai and his family. We are proud of the boys no matter what.

Thanks a lot for this brilliant content. Just one question, if his natural tendency is to attack the left..How did it work with Gasperini's Atlanta where he is darts from right flank. How do Lookman exactly solve his problem?
comment in response to post
Also it's funny how people want a scapegoat. When the answer is as a club we failed to plan well during the summer for our squad. Havent got the right backup..couldn't pull some deals which we prepared for before the summer.
comment in response to post
He has not the lit the world. But calling him out for our inability to not buy in the market is silly. Don't always find a scapegoat for every issue..there sometimes isn't one. If it makes you feel better to center your anger on person..well there you go.

Wages my man..its the wages. Always.

Players looked gassed and many didn't step up to create a magic. Lack of intent is a theme of our attack this season.
comment in response to post
Lacked any intent whatsoever. More concerning is some players looked gassed. I've never seen Rice not able to make the run.. We need a leader on the pitch who can grab the game and try to make something happen. Everyone is waiting for someone to produce a magic.
comment in response to post
I think Chelsea's press against buildup has a big problem. Too much distance for few players to cover. Distances were not optimal..Did Fulham do it to them or that's intrinsic tactical weakness?
comment in response to post
Is Rodri the only issue? I think there is much deeper problem. Its like Akanji, Diaz and Ake cannot defend without their number 6. Very wierd.
comment in response to post
I want the Ashley days back.
comment in response to post
Exactly. Also in a market which could have got us Leao or Osimhen or Wirtz.
comment in response to post
Exactly. In a market where we could have captured Osimhen or Leao or Wirtz. That level of talent is what we needed to produce magic. What's frustrating is Mikel knows this. He always talks about x factor or winning moments but never addresses it in market.
comment in response to post
I would argue we failed this season not now..but in the summer by not showing ambition. We should have showed ambition with maybe a striker or left winger or AM. We did none of that but resorted to floor raisers like Merino. Calafiori is a smart buy. Sterling I am not even commenting on that.

Arteta is a risk averse coach probably because of his coaching influence. Pep is also like that and many coaches have now followed suite. Very few like Wenger or Postecoglu kind of coaches these days. Slot's form is because of rejuvenated world-class talents like Salah, Trent, Vandijk and Allison.
comment in response to post
No no I am fully with you. Teams have maybe figured us out not now but seasons ago. I think you missed Everton home or Porto home etc because we won and kept the scoreline locked. A goal to secure the win or capitalize on game state when they try and score. That I think is intentional?
comment in response to post
We have played this team only twice this season. With constant changes we can see relations are not formed yet.
comment in response to post
My point in player form and relations decide how we are on pitch. Manager always prioritized wing overload and entry to the box with cutback. He was never full throttle on central passes. Its a working strategy and it would've again worked this season too if not for injuries.
comment in response to post
He has always been risk averse. It's also Jesus/Zinchenko/Partey and Granit's form. All of them clicked really well together and they are attack first kind of players. I think last season was our best team than the 22/23 one. Because we knew when to attack and when to defend impeccably.
comment in response to post
As a opposition manager my tactics are simple. Restrict central progression by dropping your front two in a press. Ask your midfielder and FB or sometimes even wide CB to cover on Saka. If Odegaard got the ball..force him to touchline where he is more ineffective due to angle bias.
comment in response to post
Haha. Football is a silly game 😅
comment in response to post
The subs screamed INJURY MANAGEMENT. Maybe our lack of ambition on market is killing us now with "injuries domino".
comment in response to post
Very interesting analysis. Arteta thinks of substitutions if available as a plan A, plan A.1 type..not plan A, plan b. He likes to play chess games with opposition manager that way. You get the best out of him if all your players are fit and ready. Remembering Jose's comments two years ago.

Jesus left footed cross btw. I didn't know he had it in his locker. He played well overall but the finish.
comment in response to post
Timber energy and more. That Jesus left footed cross to Saka is less talked about. All three superb there. MLS Jesus and Bukayo.
comment in response to post
Atlanta is a interesting one since last season. Looking at you man? 😅
comment in response to post
Robinson made sure Saka or Martin cannot cross backpost. Trossard diagonal runs to middle and Rice runs for the backpost. Havertz cannot pin the CBs due to his rotational role. Left pod did combine well occasionally with long passes to Trossard's vacated space to Rice which couldn't be finished.
comment in response to post
Why do think Mikel didn't play him yesterday? My answer is Mikel still thinks he needs to learn his pressing triggers.
comment in response to post
Is he the dribbler we miss? Maybe. How are his receiving numbers. We all know Arteta loves LCM runners and box crashers. One thing I love about Lookman is his bravery and long distance shooting.
