Isn’t it one of the few games set in Ireland? If we don’t take into account racing games of course

Original post was about doing 4k from 35mm print of a theatrical release as “the” source. Michael Mann, David Lynch, Friedkin and other greatest directors disagree with this idea. Do we really think Danny Boyle opinion would be different?

Yeah, it’s a filmmaker who should decide that and preferring 35mm to a digital upscale is arbitrary and has no argument to support it.

I understand that, my point is that there are too many things that can be considered “source”. Why we should consider 35mm printed for theatrical release superior or preferable to a DVD or original video files? Like isn’t that a filmmaker/authors who decides that? Choosing 35mm for 4k is nostalgia

It is though. Is this 4K of a film scan of a theatrical release? Question then, is the film reel in good condition? Or is it used up? Why not upscale original video file digitally? If so, what type of upscaler being used? If you run 480p file on any modern player it already uses an upscaler.

I genuinely think smart people who went on his podcast just didn't know/care who he was and just went for publicity without doing any research on him. Some of them realised how stupid/shallow Lex is halfway through the podcast and it's funny to see how their tone change.

I don't think this is the same as censorship in China. Especially if we talking about regular people. Do you seriously comparing multi billion dollar company not wanting to upset their funding to people going to prison because of censorship?

So companies like Valve and Nintendo who value these things are not ideologically capitalist?

I think the problem here is that "gamers" you are talking about here is the very vocal portion of gall amers. Most people read Metacritic score/Steam score and just decide on that. Also most people who watch youtube reviews never leave a comment.

I believe comments are important and it's a no-no to accept that programmers won't maintain them (maybe naive but progs should be taught to treat them seriously?).
On an old game I started using _standardized_ FIXME comments to ensure they can be grepped. I still use that technique nowadays.

Not really, original games had AI agents that were working even when you are not on the same location. Stalker 2 has barey working AI in the same building, I am not talking about empty spaces between hubs and ridiculously small spawn bubble.

It is not. Why you use just f(x) in your for loop when you need antiderivative of integrand? Also integral is not a sum of products of function under integral sign and differential. It's all wrong lol
