Sadly (for Jays fans) I think you’re overly optimistic on that deal. Though maybe 5 4-bWAR seasons could happen over the next 8 years.

Would you bet even money he makes the Hall of Fame? I’d laugh at that bet. Or you’re betting massive inflation in salaries in the new CBA. I’d guess he accumulates 30-35 more WAR the next 14 years. Hoping BlueSky is around in 10 years so we can check.

Barring suddenly running off a string of years where he’s healthy and good, Snell seems like an obvious “no”. Probably won’t crack 40 fWAR, even if he winds up with 3 Cy Young seasons.

Ugh. One guy making up a trade proposal is not a prediction.

So would you allow 42 players on the 40-man roster for these two games? How would you allow Sasaki and Shaw (and others) to be added? I agree with you, just wondering how it should work.

Of the 5-man travel squad, Boyd, Taillon and McGwire (the #3 catcher) are inactive and Palencia and Assad are removed from the roster, right? And Hoerner is in magical limbo.

Haven’t worked a government job but I’ve been on some non-profit boards and it’s a world of difference from how private sector functions. I can imagine the government likewise being completely different.

Stanton injured both elbows. Out indefinitely (OK, I exaggerated the second part).

France seemed to be unlucky defensively last year which hurt his WAR; I don’t believe he’s the worst defensive player in baseball. But he hit so poorly the Mariners released him with no good option and he was worse with the Reds. Suspect he’ll get cut by the all-star break.

And yes I know the Chiefs finished 15-2. I’m not counting the last game where they rested players and didn’t have anything to play for.

Despite the “reset” the Cardinals have a decent team. A lot of resetting teams challenge 100 losses, the Cards could be close to 500 especially if Arenado stays.

We haven’t had fair elections in the US going back to 2000 when the Supreme Court decided the outcome not the will of Florida voters.

By May, the White Sox will no longer be eligible, though the bill doesn’t clarify the details and of course would change before being passed.

It’s called Bears oversight, but it really screws the White Sox. Well not screws but prevents them from stealing money from the public.

Setting aside the whole WFH/WFO debate, I can see a hybrid model where people are in 2 or 3 days a week, so you balance face time with no commute days. But once/week or every other week feels like a disruption. The exception would be if you gathered everyone once per quarter.

You probably should change that clause to reference BlueSky or perhaps generic social media. I have high confidence you will outlive Twitter/X.
