Friends, if someone posts a fun thread about something, you are not actually required to bring up Trump. It isn’t mandatory! I realize that the political situation is deep and dark and dreadful, but that’s kinda why we need a few seconds a day untainted by it.

Hey, it's the end of the month and here I am, once again, asking you to consider supporting this team of old ladies on Patreon, so we can keep bringing some chaotic comics into the world. Mine is patreon.com/alepresser And @kbspangler.com 's is patreon.com/kbspangler Thank you! ❤️🎉

Museums need to step up to remake the exhibits being dismantled. We cannot allow black history and black identity to be erased this way.

Most of Europe can fit into the state of Texas. We’re geographically massive. It only makes sense for us to prioritize interstate travel, but nah. You get a car! And you get a car! And YOU get a car! And for the wealthy: helicopters, private jets and rockets. 🚀 Good stuff, guys. Love it. 🙄🙄🙄

And then we're back to people who don't understand the system destroying people's livelihoods. Because to you or me, enamel pins are a luxury item. But to my independent artist friends, enamel pins have been the thing that made their careers sustainable.

Back in 2018 I wrote a story about a super-advanced "Smart City" facing starvation. I feel like this story has only gotten more relevant since then, so I'm so happy that it's been republished at the new home of Future Tense Fiction: issues.org/futuretensef...

Fifteen years ago today, I began telling you all the story of Shaun and Georgia Mason, two young bloggers chasing the story of the century. FEED, the book that introduced them, was the first of my works nominated for the Hugo Award, and changed my life in a very real way.

In effectively a single blink of the historical eye, we’ve seen our entire constitutional system simply … stop. We can clearly see what’s happening is wrong—illegal and unconstitutional—and the actors who can do something about that just … aren’t. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/america-s-...

This is straight up not how measles works. This isn't a political disagreement. This is false facts, and will get people killed. It already is.

With anglerfish fever gripping the nation, it's time to recommend my very own anglerfish mermaid book: INTO THE DROWNING DEEP.

Time for lunch! I find the five minutes while it cooks is perfect for leaving angry messages with my senators.

I was not built to think about things like taxes and Internet discourse. I should be churning butter by a bog and fretting about the potato harvest, like my ancestors before me

Once again I am begging the culture industry for a Dune movie or show about the spacing guild and mentats

This is simply not true. The number of independent bookstores in the USA doubled between 2016 and 2023. People open indie bookstores every day. We need to support them so they'll stay here. www.salon.com/2024/10/05/i...

Are you looking for a light-hearted, chaotic-driven, fantasy RomCom to enjoy online? You've got it. Meet Charlie, Robin, and Leopold, disastrously falling in love and making stupid decisions... With magic! ✨ *Side Quested* is a webcomic by me and @kbspangler.com , free to read at sidequested.com.

Ok, here she is. The woman of the hour. Thank you for the ko-fis! And GOOD LUCK! #kamala #kamalaharris #VPOTUS #shewill

Reminder that if you are broke, like BROKE-broke, like "food versus electricity?" broke, you can email me and I'll send you a free ebook of your choice. Life can be heavy shit sometimes but books help lift the load. kbspangler.com/books/

Reskeet if you think this dog, who is no longer allowed to play Log after taking one too many cedar chunks to her wee noggin, is more thoughtful than a Supreme Court justice.

Reskeet if you think that Meg, who has often been described as "very affectionate bread mold," intellectually speaking, is more thoughtful than a Supreme Court Justice.

Today's indie bookstore T-shirt comes from Volumes Bookcafe in Chicago. It's a wonderful store with lovely staff and you can get a nice owl T-shirt online! Remember: bookstores are the lifeblood of our communities and a haven for book lovers. Now's a great time to support your local indie!

It's very important to delegate authority to cats

UIUC has been mascot-less since 2007 In 2020 the student body voted to adopt a new mascot (the Kingfisher) but admins downplayed the referendum, presumably hoping it'd go away as folks graduated. These students have not let up. Check out these freaking epic posters on campus today:
