Sitting under stars in the shallows of the river last night, three of us managed destroy a case of beer while also mostly convincing me to write and produce a silly thing. Dangerous days, indeed.

There are multiple nests of barn swallows plastered under the porch of the cabin, each crowded with hungry chicks. A pair of tired parents decided to catch a break by roosting overnight on the doorframe, away from the chicks. I laughed that I understood their motivations and exhaustion.
