You know, reading this it occurs to me that walkability probably reduces food waste too, which is currently a huge problem for the planet, esp in the US and UK. Buy what you need as you go along.

Thank you! Sadly I know it well. My older child has it too and it is only really through their diagnoses that I got to name mine. A common story for us 80s babies.

If they have German citizenship, they will be able to live anywhere within the EU without needing a visa or anything extra. I'm not saying anywhere is safe right now but Germany certainly seems a scarier option.

The entire attitude to public transport in this country is backwards. We see owning cars as something to aspire to. A good public transport infrastructure is cleaner, safer and cheaper than roads clogged with angry drivers, often one per car. I don't just want decent buses where I live, I crave them
