Oh I remember those innocent days of yore (a few months ago) when we didn’t think to ask people in their confirmation hearings whether they knew what habeas corpus is and why it’s in the constitution because it hadn’t occurred to any of us that the administration would try to suspend it. Good times!

In elementary school, my teacher occasionally wrote “See Me” at the top of a test or an assignment I got wrong. It wasn’t until she scolded me for not coming to talk with her that I realized that SHE was the ME (rather than me). I thought she wanted me to engage in introspection.
