I'm old enough to remember the stories from family members in WW2 in occupied Italy & Germany.
shit has to get unbearable in order for people to react en masse- and even then, be willing to experience worse than they can imagine.
that's the only out I see on the horizon.

it was a win/win.
Khashoggi was working on a piece that exposed both MBS & trump, and by it happening on 'sovereign soil' that was of Khashoggi's citizenship, it was deemed he was subject to the laws of that country, not the one he was a resident of.
and trump smiled when it happened.

what makes him particularly appealing to them is his talent for framing his hate for The United States of America and all it once stood for sound reasonable- he's objectively brilliant at making his hitleresque xenophobia & authoritarianism seem rational.
it ain't.

I've never had to explain to a kid why there was a stylized symbol of what a trans person died on every 1/4 mile, or that a trans person died for my sins either, but here we are... 🤷

by the 3rd time (Clawed was his name) we figured out soaking a hand towel in the stuff & wrapping him with it worked and kept the claws at bay- the look when buying 3 gallons of juice every month suggested we really liked bloody marys.

in the 'days of olde' before we had Dawn (or the magic blend mentioned) it was tomato juice.
as much fun as the blend it, tomato juice was even more- trying to pour a half gallon can of the stuff on a freaked out cat while avoiding evisceration by claws was a party'n a half.
best wishes 😜

it's not policy that's being defended- it's the perceived assault on their enforcers of the policy they're defending against.
the threat that their Geheime Staatspolizei are being resisted and attacked is what the issue is.
the gestapo are a protected species now.

it appears they resent being treated like nazis.
I mean, if they stopped acting like Nazis maybe it wouldn't so so much of a problem for them.
it ain't complicated 🤷

it's more not one media outlet has pointed it out- no one has confirmed or confronted it.
it's clickbait-ready & they're scared shitless to capitalize on it.
