Can you give raises to folks to livable wage for them to not just teach, but also have families themselves, & can you take things off teachers plates that are “required” & expected? These are the 2 largest obstacles to younguns making a career of this, STILL, noble pursuit of a life of service.

Holy Hannah! What is going on with DeNiro’s fingernails in this picture?!?! They are long as all get out- stab worthy for sure. Crazy look for him.

DJed a 43rd Bday party 7-10pm tonite- left waterpark, unloaded all Battle Bots materials at school, showered at home quickly & then at the Bday house by 5:15 to unload & setup. Refereeing 3 soccer games tomorrow to end my “weekend”….love all these jobs, but also why is this what it takes to survive?

*Had to cover a class during my planning period Fri- time I needed to enter Robot Game scores to determine class winners- & ended up covering part of next period & having only 15 min lunch as other teacher forgot to relieve me.

Get you some colleagues who support, challenge, & appreciate you the way these 5-6 folks- some of whom I only know as teachers hired after I left 2 yrs ago who work w/ my former coaching colleagues- do for me. It’s little conversations like these that keep you in the trenches fighting the good fight

Just got a BUNCH of great news for my FLL Robotics Teams- donations from the State Championship we hosted, vendors that helped us making donations, AND news of matching donation from a Fortune 500 corp, but hard to get super stoked as I know I should given current education climate. Bittersweet….

Arkansas.
I was married in its twin in Ft Worth.
It’s on the Lena Pope Homes campus- a children’s home.
Picked it because of the stunning natural architecture, light & connection to my upbringing. My parents were houseparents at a Children’s home in NC for 13 years- better part of my own childhood.

Sadly, the cruelty of what they are doing is the point. These folks don’t have a conscience at all. They find nothing wrong at all with what they are doing & in fact feel it’s justified because they have NO capacity to think of anyone other than themselves. They have sold out their own families even

Winco is an amazing store. I try to shop there as much as I can and actually feel good giving them my hard earned money specifically because I know they pay well- compared to peers- and are employee owned. Always a good experience shopping there too. We can vote with our cash too.

You want to say “act like you’ve been there” but honestly, you can’t be too surprised b/c they’ve literally NEVER been here b4.
Will enjoy watching them lose in playoffs- 2nd round, Championship or Super Bowl.
Would LOVE for it to be the Vikes, but an L for Lions will be gr8 no matter the opponent

Vikings did it to me again.
Me: This team is different. They won’t repeat past Vikings mistakes….
Sam Darnold & Kevin OConnell: hold my beer

Vikings got me again. This is not the same Vikings I said. This team is different. This team won’t repeat past Vikings mistakes…..
✅missed FG
✅dumb special teams mistake
✅QB underperforming
✅Vikings not taking advantage of other team’s mistakes
Same as it ever was….
Ready for next year and JJ now

I really felt this Vikings Team was different. One of our best players No Showing in the biggest game of the season, our amazing kicker making a dumb play to cost us 3 pts & our Coach of the Year who has coached circles around everyone all year suddenly being aloof seem unfortunately on brand 😢

I have yet to see Sam Darnold on the field tonite. There’s someone playing QB for the Vikings tonite, but it’s NOT Sam. He.is.off……Kevin has GOT to help him out & calm him down- run the ball, short passes, quick plays. Simplify for him- he needs some easy wins to get some confidence back. Goodness.

Vikings are wasting prime opportunities in the first 2 quarters so far to take control of this game.
D has shown up.
Sam is still on the bus apparently.

Skol! Let’s go Vikes! D stepping up, time for Sam and the O to stop overthinking it and get it going! Vikes forever either way!

This just confirms what I’ve long felt about Jimmy Carter- he was a low key bad ass- no way around it. And the fact he kept his bad-assery nature low key, will forever make him more of a bad ass. The humble brag without the brag president….wow. Just an amazing dude.

On cup #2 & my final as I see into day, before I get in the shower and drive an hour to referee 6 soccer games this afternoon/evening. Working on a break from teaching is not ideal, but I love soccer and enjoy the competition and teaching part of refereeing. The after Xmas 💰 will def help as well.

Between us we have 3 Teacher of the Year awards, runner up to State Teacher of Year in TX, Council of PTA Lifetime Recognitions & Friend of Kids awards & numerous other recognitions. Instead of teaching & doing what we love & are great at until we die as we hoped, we are both retiring in 2 yrs.

As a teacher w/ a masters I spent $20K+ to obtain to get a measly 1K more each yr, I heartily agree. My wife is a teacher who did the same & we have 3 kids & 50+ yrs experience between us & we make close to 70k each, I work 2 other jobs (DJ & soccer ref) & still barely making it. No raise since ‘19!

Kirby Joseph is dirty. Lions D in general is a bit dirty. Campbell being part of the Saints team that was guilty of Bounty-gate is not coincidental. That said, I love Campbell & the culture he’s built- just feels he crosses the line a bit. Would love to see T-Hock & the Vikes win in a close game!

Just bought another Smart Tank HP printer for our house after 2 yrs of great experiences w/ a similar HP model at school. The ink subs are a cruel racket- I’m glad they still have other options- like these Smart Tank (& other manufactures offer similar). Ink lasts a LONG time & easy cheap refills.

Started 4 FLL Lego Robotics Teams w/ 24 middle school kids & NO robots. Making it work w/ loaners & donations. We hosted a 12 team Scrimmage in Nov & compete in 4 wks. Our school will host the TX State Championship & get a $2K donation for our teams for this honor! Our program has a bright future!

I’m ready to be hurt again, but hoping this team shows as they have all year that they are just built different than Vikings teams we’ve seen in the past. No matter what, it’s been an unexpectantly fun ride this year!

Those couple years w/ the Giants tho! World Series for sure tops that a but- but to go from solid contributor to one of the best in the league/MVP in the span of 2/3 yrs….crazy! Then be one of the best for 4 yrs, fall off & then come back & be a baller again in Cincy for 2 yrs- what a yo-yo career.

6 mos l8r & determined the alternator needs to be replaced. Ordered a new me & have an expert fellow dad doing this replace for me & showing me how. Of course the hood struts failed- so I couldn’t keep the hood open even. I ordered replacements & installed them myself! Not much, but baby steps 4wrd!

Still miss the North Stars…criminal move of a franchise.
The Wild are a thing and I love their North Stars throwback unis, but it’s not the same.
Particularly still upset about Modano.
Live in Ft. Worth & go to Stars games all the time- just not the same.
AA is a great venue for hockey tho!

I am hearing at least one trumpet in there tho- what’s up with that. Go ALL tuba or rename the event. 🤣 As a recovering trumpet player I feel I can solidly say that. O matter what is going on, trumpet players always find a way to blast their way in…
Amazing idea & far out performance on the real tho
