Huge memory of finishing "Bridge to Terebithia" while home alone and bawling. I think I've re-read it since, but that's a core memory of full-body scream-sobs.

They shall battle during Gary Retrograde.

What microgeneration am I a part of that I occasionally have a crushing nostalgia for Google Reader?

I think there should be an annual st Pauli/Minneapolis bike event where each city’s bike weirdos meet in the middle of the Marshall/Lake bridge and shake hands like Minnie and Paul

New from me: Everything feels overwhelming. But here is a tangible thing you can do: write a comment to oppose Trump's plan to convert 50,000 career civil servants into political appointees. Deadline is May 23. Please share! donmoynihan.substack.com/p/here-is-a-...

Was surprised this wasn’t from @apocrypals.bsky.social

Well, he is technically on a mission from God.

I've talked about Brand's pace layers so damn much during (and esp after) my time as a fed that I have the article bookmarked and the diagram saved as a favorite in my camera roll. Government is slow(er) because it stabilizes and supports the faster layers. jods.mitpress.mit.edu/pub/issue3-b...

The dread-filled score to "Conclave" was excellent, but also made me crave edits with other music. Exactly the kind of film that could be re-scored to show how much music choice affects the scene and mood. Honestly, just more of this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFMD...

ok now we got entering *and* leaving the room all covered

well, it’s like we said in college: two aircraft go, take it slow; third aircraft gone, party til dawn

Truly hype to put this in job app forms.

Figma Sites, like its paint-by-number web design tool predecessors (and peers!), just ain't it. Every accessibility/content/IA person in my life is sighing audibly right now

all right everybody, here we go links, trackers, webinars, templates, and all the free support you need if you just got that nightmare NEA email on Friday please share far and wide, you do NOT have to be in Oregon to use these resources

For every doll you deny me I will push another jet off an aircraft carrier

aaaaand... love to see the unedited meta tags on DNI.gov telling us that it's running Joomla! OPSEC IS ALL AROUND US!

🚨 GET HYPE 🚨 The Director of Nat'l Intelligence wants you to know that May is National OPSEC Month!! 🥳 No word yet on what kind of retrospective we'll get on the multiple recent massive OPSEC failures from appointees, but surely it's coming. So timely! www.dni.gov/index.php/nc...

Was told that my health insurance would be extended automatically for 31 days , and also if I didn't take an (unspecified) action, coverage would be canceled immediately. Today their systems are down and they can't confirm anyone has any coverage, and I should call back... sometime.

Was able to grab an 8:45 appt at the county service center but now standing in a check-in line of about 40 people with only one window open. Taking bets on if I’m able to check in on time or if I’ll be marked late and need to reschedule.

It’s wild that the unspent obligated funds aren’t just deobligated back to Congress. Because impoundment is – you guessed it! – illegal.

You’re in her DMs, I’m teaching her the difference between three-tab and architectural shingles. We are not the same

I’ve bristled severely when folks say they’re coping via cynicism by saying “What did you expect?” or scoffing that laws aren’t real anymore.

Minnesota data/journalism people -- come take my job! The Reformer is an amazing place to work, you'll absolutely love it here. statesnewsroom.com/staff-openin...

Listen: @brownorama.bsky.social gave an opening for heckling at #iac25 and dear lord I took it and I'M NOT SORRY. (I mean, how WILL people learn about the history of the company if its not in the top nav???)

Surprisingly loud flute and guitar music over the loudspeakers at the south checkpoint at MSP this morning, otherwise humming along. Saw more than one person approach the face scanner screen by the TSA stand and try to high five the ✋ (halt/wait) display.

As a Minnesotan, four months ago it would have been unthinkable for me to not be at Target every week. Once I broke the auto-Target habit, though... it's been nice. And makes me think about what I'm buying and from where.

I’ve found it’s more visually appealing to just paste in his head at the inflection points

A calculator that costs 1 trillion dollars, but it’s also wrong

Ah “The children yearn for the mines” strategy

I dig all of the general "background music for writing/reading" playlists, but wish there was a way to filter out the tracks with "lo-fi" creaks and fuzz added. Having a vague "dishwasher on a hardwood floor" noise doesn't really help my focus, just makes me think my cat is getting into trouble.

i carry consumer product safety with me(i carry it in my heart)

Everyone equal before the court, etc., etc., but I feel like we could make one teeny exception for those who would submit pleadings with a Jacked Dragon In A Business Suit watermark
