I don’t have a hybrid, trying to avoid a car payment while I’m still in law school and my apartment didn’t have charging stations when I moved in. But I bought my dad’s old car off him when he bought a Ford Maverick and he loves it. Went from filling his gas tank once a week to once a month.

It's easy to forget now but we had decades of steady advancement on trans rights. The 2016 bathroom bills invited huge backlash! It was only after the media constructed sports and youth medications as 'debates' that opposition moved from the far right to the polite center.

It’s pretty clear that if the Dems ever gain a Fed trifecta, the VERY first thing they have to do is: 1. Kill (if the zombie still lives) the filibuster. 2. Expand SCOTUS by 5-6 justices. 3. Hold hearings for them as they work on the bill. 4. Sign bill and swear in the 6 at the same ceremony.

It's infuriating how 99% of the coverage of this new war doesn't bother to mention that it is happening because we had an agreement to limit and monitor Iran's nuclear program, which even Trump's own aides said was working, and he blew it up because it was negotiated under Obama.

Please, everyone, stop with “X is to divert attention from Y.” A. It implies X is unimportant, or frivolous, or a niche concern B. Comes off like they want to change the subject away from X C. Suggests Repubs only care about X as a tool to achieve Y. Repubs banned X bc they wanted to ban X.

I started Zepbound yesterday and I'm eager to see how this goes. So far, I feel okay, a little nausea but it's mild and I'm not entirely sure I would have noticed if I weren't keeping an eye out for side effects. Had a lighter than usual breakfast and felt satiated after, which is nice.

As @reichlinmelnick.bsky.social has pointed out, this isn't legally correct. But a lot of people think it is, and more importantly, a lot of us think it *should* be true. "ICE is arresting US citizens" is a shocking thing for people to hear, and it might further undermine support for ICE & Trump.

ICE just arrested Brad Lander, the NYC Comptroller and one of the leading candidates for Mayor, without grounds. He was conducting routine immigration court work, escorting individuals from hearings. He asked ICE for their warrant - well within his legal rights. This is political intimidation.
