Most teams don't have a tech problem. They have a learning problem. Fast feedback, short iterations, real users. That’s how software grows. Stop polishing code in a vacuum. Ship. Learn. Improve. Repeat.

Design systems are product operating systems They're more than a design tool. They unify business domains, disciplines, and experiences. It's more than UI kits and component libraries, it's how products are built and delivered. medium.com/design-syste... #DesginSystems #SoftwareDevelopment

Normally I would share this from the original content creator but I scrolled a few paged down @jasongorman.bsky.social's feed and didn't see it so here we are. There is nothing worse than software designed and built by people who have never tried to #DoTheThing. #UX and #WorkflowDesign are vital.

One very real incentive to get your software developers involved in the whole process, from defining product strategy to operations, UX, testing, and beyond, is that when we're boxed in to just "coding", we become very susceptible to narrow priorities and local optimisations at the system's expense.

React's biggest contribution may have been to teach 3 generations of programmers about the benefits of pure idempotent functions.

How is this not EVERYWHERE? I rocked a plaid flannel on Tuesday without even knowing! Last time I dressed up as a Book Character was WAY back in college when I dyed my hair black with one white streak to go as Polgara the Sorceress. (ANOTHER author scandal?!? 😭) www.indiebound.org/independent-...

Not all women are nurturing. Some shouldn’t be mothers. Some perform femininity while quietly resenting it. Matriarchy doesn’t force the performance. It watches who shows up & places them accordingly. I was raised in one. open.substack.com/pub/lovettej... #matriarchy #genderroles #neurodivergence

Hear me out… what if we *didn’t* allow car traffic in every corner of every city? What if we reclaimed some of our most valuable public space (in this case - a parkway near a lake) and ensured they were safe & comfortable for everyone who wants to walk, bike & roll?

AI is a ramp, not a cheat code. Some folks mocked my article on AI + accessibility—then accidentally boosted its reach. Thanks for the unintentional promo. Disabled creators deserve tools, respect, and space to create. Full post: qcai.short.gy/aiai #QueenCaffeine #AIArt #AIforGood #GenerativeAI

A sad reality of the times. Advising young people to seek #TradeSchool options may be wise. It is hard to outsource HVAC overseas or to replace with AI, both of which are prevalent trends for technical jobs. 🤷‍♀️ #HumansVsAI #FutureOfWork #AI #STEM #AITakeover tech.co/news/compani...

For Windows 10 users: Microsoft will no longer support the software after October 14, 2025. You could begrudgingly upgrade to Windows 11. Or you can ditch Windows altogether and find a better OS. Take a look at @alternativeto.net page. alternativeto.net/software/win...

This is a solid article. And it folds nicely into some advocating I like to do for keeping a #hypeDoc. While I was truly appreciating the view, I noticed the gent on top of the mountain appears to have three legs. 😄 Generated? Sure, but still good, and a positive application of #GenAI!

Life, the Universe, and Everything has been rather.. TENSE of late. I'm sure we're all feeling it to one degree or another. The algorithm has been teasing me with this video for a few days. I gave in and honestly it is extremely calming and soothing. #pause #justBreathe #garden youtu.be/hFQaWRRGyiU

I wrote about this a bit in my last book but it really shakes me that a defining feature of this catastrophic era is that we just keep going to work. We work through pandemics, we work through natural disasters, we work through economic calamity, we work through coups, we work, we work, we work.
