Since starting grad school, I fully accept that I am an “indoor cat.” No more lying on dating apps—or to myself for that matter—that I “like hiking.”

When granddads deliver sandwiches to kids throwing bricks, the state shakes. When they're all out their together, refusing to let us be divided, the state buckles.

Dividing protestors into "good" and "bad" is what the state wants us to do. Rowdy and peaceful protestors learning how to coexist and develop strategies that dovetail with one another is what threatens power.

The ‘suspect they would disobey’ part is interesting because… you don’t have to follow orders. You can refuse to play their games. You can keep your dignity and do what’s right. There’ll be a cost, but if that’s true, the state who demands your unflinching loyalty is off the deep end already anyway

One of the interesting side effects of Umbrella Movement in 2014 was how a lot of cops quit and recruitment nose dived after it. Because folks realized what the police force was and wanted no part in following orders from a state that shoots tear gas at citizens for fun

i oppose israel because i oppose the dehumanization of palestinians and the murder of innocents, not because i think the wrong people are being dehumanized and murdered

If we see a pattern of behaviour, violence and harassment that effectively curtails the rights of Jews to participate in civic life as a minority identity in a pluralist society, then we should be able to recognise it as racism.
