I love NYC. God bless college chaplain friends who say things like “well based on your story, I don’t like this person at all,” and little kids in Grand Central who tell you “I like your fan!” because it is already HOT OUT HERE. 🪭❤️‍🩹💓

Befriend all who are anxious

Took a later train, because I ordered a half-dozen oysters at the bar I was at: Happy Friday. ✨

I spoke your true name. It's not what I thought it would be. And I don't feel easy about it. As if I'd left something unfinished. But it is your name. If it betrays you, then that's the truth of it.

When he found that the administrators were upset, he laughed. “Do they expect students not to be anarchists?” he said. “What else can the young be? When you are on the bottom, you must organize from the bottom up”

i saw gazans being burned alive on here and it was the most horrific thing i ever witnessed and i can’t imagine anyone who was devastated by that thinking that the correct response is to do it in turn to people half a world away who simply want their friends and family back

Four years ago I wrote a piece about Tiananmen and the international workers movement for @lausanhk.bsky.social. Three years ago I expanded it into a pair of episodes for It Could Happen Here. Now they return in the hands of a New Mia with a new name and a new gender Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

If nothing remains, then 19 is the Golden Number.

This is the good stuff

As is the nature of being an Asian trans woman during Pride Month today I'm writing about Tiananmen and tomorrow I'm writing about the role of trans people as the unifying element of the disparate sections of the working class Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

Sometimes, the best reminders of what was loss is when you see what still remains.

BREAKING: Faith-led Moral Monday protesters — including Rev. William Barber — have once again been arrested while praying in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda, this time including several wheelchair users. The group is decrying cuts to healthcare programs in the GOP budget bill.

Holy God, Holy and Mighty, Holy Immortal One, have mercy upon us.

So dreadful. My heart and mind ache. Live Updates: Colorado Attack That Injured 12 Was Planned for a Year “We’ve now identified four additional victims, so there’s now a total of 12 victims.” www.nytimes.com/live/2025/06...

Pssst. Hey, you. Yeah, you. Did you know that the Sacred Heart beats for you?

Unspeakable.

I’m horrified to hear of the attack on Run For Their Lives in Colorado. There is nothing that justifies this attack and as a Palestinian I’m appalled that anyone would do this in our name. 1/

I know many don't hold this in their hearts, but I will NEVER forget how it was these exact jets were used to massacred Syrians on a daily basis for years. Glad to see them burn.

I appreciate this message, and I'll add on: I am a Jewish person and I do not want any peaceful Palestinian, Muslim, or Arab activists in the United States to face deportation or legal reprisals for their activism, in the supposed name of Jewish safety.

H323 Suitor test: learning girl's name.

Happy pride. Free Palestine.

31 Palestinian civilians were mowed down by Israeli tanks today at an aid distribution center. War crime upon war crime until you can't even see the top of the pile anymore. Few if any mentions. What's everyone talking about instead today?

If in the year of your lord 2025, when neo nazis and all sorts of fascists are literally in government, you are still debating whether antisemitism is a problem - reconsider! You only help those who want to weaponize antisemitism even further!

And as a Jewish person, I don't want incidents like today in Boulder or two weeks ago in D.C. used as justification for preemptive clampdowns on those protesting peacefully for Palestinians. It all just needs to stop.

Jesus fucking Christ. www.cnn.com/2025/06/01/u...

Happy Pride or whatever, I’ve already hit my quota of biphobic jokes about how we’re “half” straight and gay, or just riffs about being “half” anything really. I’m actually very specifically bisexual, thanks.

Back in NYC, in a taxi from the airport, listening to Gracie Abrams while the sun sets. Home.

Read this horrifying testimony from Israel's massacre of people just trying to get food:

Star Trek, Resistance, @ayoub.bsky.social and @joyfulcarla.bsky.social in one. I think I found home finally.
