We have clients on WPE as well, and I too have to noticed speed issues. I've never used Kinsta, and I'm sure it's great.
I have however migrated a few clients to DigitalOcean using Forge. It's crazy to see a basic VPS, that costs a fraction of the price, outperform a "WP-optimized" managed host.

I forgot... Not a CMS, but I believe you've been digging in to Laravel lately, correct?
If so check out: github.com/corcel/corcel

If I must use WP then some directions I go...
Queues: github.com/deliciousbra...
Utils: github.com/illuminate/s...
Front-end: htmx.org and alpinejs.dev
Never used, looks cool: roots.io/acorn
If I can use WP as a data store only, I like: github.com/corcel/corcel

The package is not abandoned, but I find needing a tool like this rare in the era of Gutenberg. I used to build "web apps" with WP — these days it's mostly websites. If I need to build a web app I prefer to reach for Laravel.

Cool package. I love using Laravel, but WP work is my day job.
I've been trying to bring Laravel like features to WP for years. Your StaleCache project reminded of my old package: github.com/boxybird/waf...
Thanks for the flashback!
