Thanks for a well written report, as usual. Really pleased Kapanen played well. Really looking forward to seeing him play/develop in the near future.

Thanks for the heads up re Jonathan Pie. If he’s had a go at the Fagash Fascist he’s ok in my book.

Well written, Mr T. Thank you. A great way to finish the work week! šŸ

Succinctly stated, Mr W. Thank you. The coming games, & trade deadline, will determine the run to the end of this regular season. However, there’s the bigger picture. To date, KH & JG have put in place the broader strokes, & some detail, for the extended picture. Which bodes well.

Hopefully it’ll break soon, & soaking rains arrive in the not too distant future.

And purchases are now ABA (Anything But American)….

Apologies if I’ve missed the thread. But it would be interesting to know the context of when, & where, the comment was made. If Caulfield’s comment was made in Cal., then someone could ask why he thinks fellow Americans booing their national is disrespectful?

Brilliant! Disappointed you didn’t break into ā€œI’m a lumberjackā€ though!!

Possibly. If he plays well, then there’s a tad more ā€œincentiveā€ for Montembeault to do (very) well against TO Saturday night. As for Sunday’s game, the start might go to who has played better. Nothing like a bit of healthy competition between goalies at this stage of the season.

Very insightful article regarding draft picks, & pending free agency for some. Thank you, Mr W. I wondered how the team might go once Laine cooled off. And credit to the group for continuing moving forward.

No, I’m not in an echo chamber, so therefore don’t find it ā€œstuffyā€. Mr Todd’s article was quite clear in its general context. Specifically, the toxicity of men’s sports. As I stated, while sport & location might be different, the same applies in Oz. Perhaps think more laterally. Thanks.

Pretty easy to ā€œimagineā€ that….

Well written, Mr T. If you subbed out hockey, & replaced it with Oz winter sport references e.g. rugby league &/or Aussie rules, there’d be little difference.

Great to see you missed the overall point of Mr Todd’s article. Best wishes for 2025.

Interesting to read that he thought ā€œeggingā€ The Beatles was considered ā€œradicalā€. And to add insult to injury, being one of Joh’s ministers. Part of, possibly, the most corrupt government in Oz history. To use an old expression, the bloke is little more than a drongo….

Exactly. It’s happening in cricket too, where there’s 3 formats of the game. And most of it is doing a disservice to the game as a whole.

Ah, ok. But speaking of made up competitions, I just read a headline about FIFA’s expanded ā€œWorld Club Cupā€. ā€œExpandingā€ to 30 something. FIFA never misses an opportunity to grab more money.

Seems like a made up ā€œcompetitionā€ to allow a bunch of owners to rope in more money. But perhaps I’m too much of a cynic….

Completely agree with the thought on refs &/or a supervisor explaining decisions post game. Perhaps also do what the umpires do in rugby, where they’re always explaining decisions during the game to players. They have mics & everyone can hear what they say.

That’s true. I/we would watch just to get ā€œthe latestā€ from you pre-game. And I’d watch the late news, with yourself & Monsieur Gagnon, for the post game analysis. Halcyon days…. Still, it’s great to be able to interact with yourself, Jack T., & others. Thank you.

I remember when you were with CFCF, & the person in studio (Randy T., Ron R., et al) would cross to you at the Bell Centre, for a pre-game review early Saturday evening. I know it’s years on, & a different platform, but have you thought of doing the same? I know I’d ā€œtune inā€.

A suspension for a minimum of 10 games, or as long as Nurse is out for injured. Which ever is longer.

A suspension for as long as the opposition player is injured.
