I honestly believe that trump is manufacturing an excuse to declare martial law and that taking the NG out of Newsome's hands was tailored to escalate civil unrest. I think he will do so sooner than we expect, and with less justification, but we should not be making that easier for him.

No, Mr. Speaker. It's because secret, unaccountable police are a tool of an authoritarian state that believes it is more important to control the people than serve them. And also because fuck you, Nazi.

That's great, but can we keep the department of agriculture. You know, in case looking at the cow turns out to be an inadequate substitute for Pasteurization?

I know we're supposed to love the Biltmore as a local cultural landmark, but it feels like a museum to capitalist excess. I always want to barf when commercials for that place come on pretending it's a beacon from a more enlightened age.

He always had freedom of speech. And we had the freedom to recognize him as a shitty person who makes shitty pizzas. Nothing has changed there. He's just being the same shitty person he always ways. Fuck you shitty person! You stink and have the meat sweats!

Think of this -- can you believe this -- the most powerful person in the world is an utter moron surrounded by sycophants and elected by dim bulbs too lazy or dumb to discern truth from fiction. Of course, now we're supposed to care when they lose their medicaid.

Great. Now let's hear that from supposedly freedom-loving republicans. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger aren't enough.

trump's only priority was staying out of jail and polishing his ego. The rest is chaos and sewage.

I never know whether to think of him more as an evil guy who's an idiot, or an idiot who's an evil guy. Unfortunately, he brings more than enough evil competent people in on his coat tails. At this point I'm just waiting for them to form a circular firing squad.

We passed the unmasking point a long time ago, but this would be a milestone in the decline of our republic.

Great idea. Let's launch another doomed impeachment process, siphoning both Democratic credibility and public attention from trump's ongoing assault on the rule of law. I can see why the Democrats are so blindingly successful.

Sadly none of this is new to us. We're exhausted, and frankly we've got to survive at least the next four years. We're going to have to be smart about where we invest our energy and emotions. Domestic civil unrest is probably inevitable, but it's not going to end well.
