I think that my being an adopted person is affecting me here. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks alone and then in foster care for 5 months, so it’s hard for me to not want to surround this child immediately with love from kin. I will have to trust that his parents will do that.

The reason she’s giving is not worry about germs but rather bonding as a unit. She’s keeping open the option of asking us for help if she needs it.

When I was in Italy last year, I ordered fried zucchini blossoms at every possible opportunity. Sometimes they're stuffed with ricotta first. Yum!! 🍽️

I used canned chickpeas but boiled them for an extra half hour as the recipe suggests. The last time I made this, the minced garlic didn’t break down, so I grated it this time.
