Ahh, memories...of stopping into a bar in western PA, asking for a Grey Goose, and being told sweetly with a welcoming smile by the young woman bartending "We got rid of all of our French!" Yeah, it was pretty damned stupid.

Good reminder that “law and order” has never been about holding everyone to equal account for legal infractions.

I mean when the President is someone who has always been deeply stupid and egotistical, if an astute self-promoter, and now suffers from cognitive decline....

Or maybe they'll start running abductions and deportations like tariff policy. Today turn loose the masked forces, tomorrow hold them back, day after send them to only some places, rinse and repeat.

But, hey, there was that one time in 1950 that the USMNT beat England in a WC match so, like, Alexei rests his dumb case.

Guess the Academy is ignorant of the long history of Black people influencing and making what we call country music huh. Oh, "traditional." Got it.

Looking forward to players on foreign World Cup teams ending up in detention. At least other authoritarian regimes know enough to be on their best behavior for events like this. This group is too hate-filled, undisciplined, and stupid to manage it.

Sadly, why I have not been able to watch the final season of Curb, know I'll start ranting about RFK every time she is on screen.

Stealth techonology is decades old and has been used in combat. Does it work? "Don't know but I lean no." Hope this new group of US Army officers does some research on it!

Fear not, they will have books out in four years in which they chart the decline and blame it on the Democrats. ("Studies show that being mean to someone hastens mental decline. Why wouldn't AOC and Jasmine Crockett befriend him for the good of the nation?")

Nice; recently went back and rewatched 1992's Batman Returns for the first time since the 1990s. Hits harder than I remember. Visions of Danny Devito as the Penguin may haunt me for some time to come, just the...physical presence...of that role....

Not his first foray into political statements, either. This one goes back to the GWB years. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wRL...

But it's a joke, you see, because he has been credibly accused of sexual harassment! That he is the front runner pretty much sums up everything wrong with NYC governance.

Plenty of blame to go around the state party, but Cuomo also took a very lackadaisical approach to the last census, likely leading to an undercount for NY state and fewer seats.

Have sort of grown used to seeing them, unfortunately, but the first couple of times I broke into spontaneous, genuine howls of laughter. It looked even worse than in the initial photos and videos. Its majestically poor design can only be appreciated in person.

Not to mention the effects of decades of dirty wars in Central America. We are seeing the tactics used there appearing here while that region now supplies us with offshored, outsourced gulags.

The new anti-semitism: right wing evangelical Christians asking "who's the real Jew?" "Anti-semitism" has always been a wedge issue for this crowd and part of an end times dream. Now picked up by non-religious sorts like Trump who talks about the bad American Jews who vote against him.

You look for the copium where you can get it. If tariffs on China do go even higher on the 9th as threatened, cutting deals with Vietnam and Israel won’t keep the markets calm.

Worth remembering that it’s not just Trump. Republicans in Congress could have chosen to stop the madness at any time. And still can, though there’s no evidence they plan to do so.
