I understand the pressure they are under to manage the economy responsibly and not add additional tax burdens but I really don’t understand why they can apply the pressure at the rich end of the spectrum!! 😑😑

If they raised the tax threshold to a reasonable level (say Β£25k) then a flat tax rate would perhaps be acceptable - so long as it was set to be fiscally neutral.
