I have a new release next month. Queer fantasy with no romance, and personal stakes. Kinda YA in the first book since one of the characters is a teen. 💙📚 🌈🚀💫 📚🌎 📢📚 🩷🧙‍♂️⚔️ 🪐📚 You can pre-order at

In case anyone’s curious, that one 99c ebook you bought is 1/3 of a coffee for you and 100% a day made for an author. It truly does mean the world to us, no matter how small the sale. Just knowing our words are out there being read is an amazing feeling. Thank you, dear readers 🫶

There's something about the morning sun and how it colors the world that mesmerizes me. Something that I feel can't be caught on camera or canvas. Maybe it's the freshness of a new day?

New glasses! Nowadays, with companies following trends instead providing frames for all shapes of faces finding glasses that suit you is a pain, and that’s on top of other issues I lost a week on. But all is sorted out, so here’s a rare picture of the author herself enjoying not being half blind.

This week's blog is just an "in case you missed it on Tuesday" post: Wraith and the Revolution is now available! Details about the book and where you can snag a copy are here: ajcalvin.net/wraith-and-t...

During Japan's Obon Festival each summer, the spirits of the dead visit their living relatives. Music, dancing and food are offered to entertain the spirits. #WyrdWednesday #ukiyoe #JapaneseArt 🎨'Obon Festival Moon' from the series 'One Hundred Aspects of the Moon' - Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, 1887.

Post a villain you love

It seems that I'll have to start adding disclaimers to my 3d art that this is not AI but commercially sourced 3d models I set up, posed, and lit myself, and 2d postwork which I also did myself as just today, one of my pieces was taken for AI. Probably because of the word "rendered."

Today I have another render from the "I'll just try things out," kind. And though I sometimes start working with a clear idea in mind, I also enjoy the fun of discovering how the image will end up. Sometimes, they turn out unexpectedly well or teach me something new.

post a show ✨ older ✨ than you are (it took some digging, but I found one just slightly older than I am; yes, I'm _that_ old)

Yes, this is exactly what happened to me this week. I vaguely remembered the fact, dug out the details, and now it's a part of the setting for my new book.

It's Monday, I have a lot to do and, unsurprisingly, low motivation ratio to the amount of work needed done. Let's see how many tasks I can power through before I run out of steam.

While Kaja drowns in problems that magically altered Ireland definitely doesn't lack, a bridge dweller Three-Bones (and a seagull connoisseur) enjoys a much simpler life in which a good meal, often a soup, is an answer to any issue. Grab book 1 of this series for $0.99: bf.authorjm.com/Huma...

🤣 Well can't find fault with that!

I'm writing, and I typed "because" but what showed on my screen was... "bed." Is my subconscious sending me messages?

I suppose I'm an evil author if I'm sitting here and grinning...

Did you know that today is the only Friday the 13th in 2025? Even if you aren't superstitious, don't risk it. Read a book instead!

Just a reminder that you can now get signed copies of both of my series and the standalone! And if you're an ebook reader, you can get the ebooks directly from me and read them on any app, any device! authorjm.gumroad.com/ #fantasybooks #fantasy

Northern Crescent butterfly posed for a photo today. Nice and warm in the sun. #butterfly #photography

This render was fun, though it took me three times to get the lighting to be appealing. Its title alone, "There Are Two Wolves in You...", should explain the concept behind it.

Uhhhh. We hit the third stretch goal before I even announced it. What is happening?! www.kickstarter.com/projects/emm...

I'm usually a binge reader, so I like to get through the whole series if it's available, but sometimes, when the series (or the books) is long, I take a break. How about you?

If you’re that person who likes to talk on their phone at 9:30pm, do it in your own home, and not under your neighbors’ bedroom window. Yes, we have very inconsiderate neighbors and enough of them that this is a quite common occurrence, not one-off asshat.

It's Monday, and my to-do list is a page long. Possibly longer if I bothered to write down some minor tasks... Are your day's planes as packed?

I guess I desperately need a break if I read "whisked away" as "whiskeyed away." ... And I'm not even a whiskey drinker.
