they/them - I appreciate automotive design but don’t think our world should be dominated by automobiles. Also on IG as autoverse.

It’s just a little hatchback, perfect for running errands in.

This popped up on my IG feed a few hours ago, certainly caught my eye.

Nice to see one that isn’t jacked up and plastered in “One Life. Live It.” Stickers, it’s the “Live, Laugh, Love” of off roaders.

It looks at home at that garage.

They just see the number of “ow my back” dodgy insurance claims when looking at seats.

That could be a byproduct of folks using them for freelance courier work.

The TRN on the plate caught my eye, last week I saw a Lancia Stratos replica with TRN as a prefix. (Comes back as a Lancia 2000)
I found a pic of it on Flickr, sharing this as there’s no login required. Although I did post a photo I took of it to my IG.

Certainly looks cleaner than the chrome laden facelift, which was an attempt to bring it in line with the Explorer.

Looks pretty legit from here, there’s no visually apparent signs that it’s 3D printed.

This is the website I used to check the plate:
vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk
I also used the MOT website (as seen in the previous screenshot) and it came back as Marlene. There’s obviously some sort of discrepancy between the two databases. Probs due to human error.

Odd, I just checked again and it came back as Mercedes. I used two other third party sites and got Mercedes on one and Marlene on the other.

Date of first registration with the DVLA is 2016. It’s registered as a Mercedes which seems somewhat disingenuous considering it’s a kit car.

After asking the question, I referred to this website: www.olavsplates.com and it seems the plates were issued in Sofia.

Are those Bulgarian plates on the Cadillac?

I had a quick look, certainly looks like they’ve extended the vehicles lifespan.

They’re keen to point out that it’s MOT exempt, makes me wonder if it would even pass one. Although regardless of that it is somewhat tempting, spent a fair amount of my childhood in one that had a similar interior.

I think the Be-1 is the most elusive of the bunch.

I can kinda see that, it’s all in the eyebrows and that slightly intense look.

The fact that they wouldn’t accept any payment from credit cards should have been a big red flag to people. Shows they didn’t want to even contemplate dealing with refunds.

I certainly went off that for several years, I did start watching it again recently but more so out of curiosity.

I often find myself listening to the radio version. ( it’s just audio lifted from the TV recording), solid satire is oft timeless.

Not quite what you asked, it’s more of a response vehicle. But a F250 is certainly an unexpected vehicle to be used for the British Touring Car Championship. btcc.net/toca-unveils...

I briefly had one of those so called “hood bras” on my first car, purely because I liked the look. I took it off as soon as I realised it was a moisture trap.

Alan Tudyk provides the voice for K-2SO and the mannerisms whilst the droid is in the pilot seat reminds me of Wash.

I knew a truck mechanic who worked on cabover DAFs, he said he never cleaned a cab as that was down to the driver. On one occasion, he tilted the cab and there was an uncapped piss bottle.

Also there’s a degree of organisation with shoving wrappers in bottles.

I tripped over a parked car, I was running along a wide footpath. The car was parked on the footpath with the wheels on full lock so the tyre stuck out beyond the bodywork. I made contact and went flying through the air, I have a scar on my wrist.

The ID prefix always indicated a lack of confidence in VW’s part when it came to launching an EV range, like they didn’t want to ruin the long established brand image of existing models. Whilst they did an EV version of the Golf, it was called the e-Golf which had strong compliance car vibes.
