I think we’ve entered an era of utter absurdity, where we’re quite prepared to let the loonies take over. -Thom Yorke

The history of our treatment of Haitians in this country is beyond shameful. One only needs to go back 30+ years ago when we detained them at Guantánamo Bay.

I took psychic damage and I need to go lay down on the floor for awhile.

100%. That's how I felt about last season's finale. It was a let down in a way because Nymphia deserved her win in front of a theater audience. Honestly, I'm not liking the direction MTV is taking the show. Like, the werk room footage feels like I'm watching The Real World from the early 90's. lol

The new main stage grew on me this season and it finally clicked that it's an improvement over the old 'T' stage. But man I really miss the earlier season finales that took place in a live theater venue. It really made the finale that much more alive and energetic.

So many good bangers from Bob Seger. The man knows how to write a great song.

I came home from working a 12 hour shift and was greeted by some good news: my girlfriend received a highly praised annual work performance review. Nowadays, we take our victories whatever they may be.

It feels like the ex civil service workers could play an important role by stepping up as a vanguard of an entire mass movement.

I hope I live long enough to watch Hegseth be convicted by a court/tribunal for being a piece of shit Nazi.

I mean the P25 handbook has been laying there out in the open this entire time. This isn't hard.

A few times I've whipped up some slow cooker citrus street tacos with shredded beef and chipotles adobo. Insanely magnificent flavor.

Wearing a mask is now a built in routine during my everyday life--both running around out in the world and my workplace.

Konyndyk provided some good forthright perspectives about the consequences of what these monsters are doing to USAID from both on the ground and strategic. This is rolling back progress from the 20th century big time and it's so incredibly maddening.

It feels like more and more that creating an anti corruption coalition would be a significant contributor to winning future elections.

Anything can happen but I would not mind AOC with an anti corruption coalition behind her.

So far the "I did not have that on my bingo card" 2025 version really fucking blows.

I watched it recently and it was surprisingly not bad. It had some fresh takes on the found footage subgenre that I think they pulled off well. Somebody commented that it was Hereditary but with alot of yoga and I think that tracks. lol

This song and quite frankly the entire album helped me survive the bush administration.

One of my favorite horror movies from this year. McCarthy is so good at building a creepy atmosphere that stays with you.

There's not a dud on that album. It's very slick and well produced.

When it comes to attacking universities and higher education, the far right always uses the same old tactics. They rely on fear mongering and creating the idea of the "other" to separate their base from everyone else.

One of my favorite evil corporation logos. Ranks right up there with, "Our Business Is Life Itself" logo from Resident Evil's Umbrella Corporation.

I had fun re-watching all of the old Alien movies in order before seeing Romulus. Alvarez did a good job showing some real respect to the original films but it was still missing the frightening suspense from the original and the big intense action from the sequel. Overall, a fun ride.

I think Steve Winwood's Higher Love laid the groundwork because you can hear elements of adult contempo moaners like Michael Bolton in Winwood's voice. Not to mention the song is fully locked into the big ’80s production aesthetic.

Before you cook your drumsticks, line the bottom of your air fryer basket with parchment paper. It makes cleaning up a whole lot easier. I learned this after cooking a lot of meat in my air fryer.

I have been sick of this sack of shit since the 80's. I know we still have a lot of work to do and self reflection as a country, but goddamn I want him buried deep.

This is one of your best pieces in the past year from The Racket. Can you imagine a timeline where the NYT labels Gaza the world's largest concentration camp?
