So yes - if you haven't given this one a go, I'm holding up a rainbow coloured light that says "jump right in".

But man, this was a charming game. Full of vibrancy and cheer - and a darker side that complements the aforementioned.
A game that made me genuinely smile and gave me that hallowed gamer's chill that all of us get once in a while when we see something different and a little bit beautiful.

The thing that stands out for me with Billy is the soundtrack. The beautifully understated battle theme still wanders into my mind every so often. And so many times a track came on that would cause me to stop what I was doing, turn to Kathryn and go "Ohhhhhhhhhhhh"

When Kat started playing this, I wasn't anticipating a wholesome Undertale-like, but that's what we got. Considering how much I loved Undertale, I was invested. And while Rainbow Billy doesn't quite hit those heights, I feel comfortable mentioning the two in the same breath.

One of my best friends recently told me that he believes I have what it takes to be a decent gaming content creator and he wouldn't have said it if he didn't mean it, so I'm currently toying with the idea.
Anything to get out of working retail 😂

Number 19 - Rainbow Billy and the Curse of the Leviathan
So, there's a few on this list that I didn't actually play, but rather my wife did. But I watched her play all these games and formed opinions on them, so I've decided to include them on this list too.
This was a great game.

So I'll finish by saying Zagreus is one of the best protagonists in all of gaming, I love the entire cast, Supergiant Games are based and amazing and if you haven't played Hades, then get it for Christmas and have the best one of those you'll ever have.

As it stands, I have close to 500 completed runs through the game. It's the only game I've ever tried to speed run (my best time of 9.19 is a point of personal pride, even if it pales in comparison to times set by real runners).
I could spend hours talking about this game alone (and have!)

The gameplay loop, the characters, the storyline... I remember the first time I picked up Final Fantasy 7, back when I was 14, and how that game changed me as a gamer. It's a rare thing for any game to make me feel similarly these days, but boy did Hades deliver and then some.

Number 20 - Hades
Is this the best game of the last ten years? I sure as hell think there's an argument of that. I remember the hype surrounding the game and how I put off playing it for the longest time. And when I did finally pick it up... dear god. I never really stopped.

FYI, I have a busy day ahead of me so I'll probably do this over a couple of days and just update this in my free time. And then I'll pin the thread once I've finished it.
Of course, these aren't all games that came out this year. Just those that I've played the most.

Hoping that after that survey they put out they'll do something to fix it, at the very least they need to punish the ragequitters. When I lose to someone I generally fight them again even if I know I'm going to get a kicking. Because that's the Dragonball way.

Best game of the last decade? Hades, without a doubt.
Best game ever (for me)? Can't help but say FFVII, it's the game that made me a gamer.

I don't get this. You can't respond to everything, especially if you have a lot of followers. It doesn't mean you don't appreciate the comments or the people behind them.

I lost 2,000 followers in the space of a month and thought it was just my inactivity, really nice to think that it was just people saying screw this and deactivating

This week was the first time I've heard of Balatro, which blows my mind because usually I'm well up on all the games.
Sounds like a rabbit hole that I'll be jumping into feet first.

I pumped 100 hours into Starfield before I got bored of it. And yes - that doesn't compare to the 1000s of hours I've pumped into other Bethesda games, but by any other standard, that ain't so bad.

The "weeping angels" level blew my mind, definitely some Doctor Who fans amongst the dev team.
