Exactly. Remember in 2015 when Trump said we lost the Iraq war and attacked McCain personally and everyone assumed that kind of break from R orthodoxy would doom him?

R’s did throw overboard some of their key congressional leaders as well. Paul Ryan and the Cheneys in particular. They dropped Medicare privatization and pro legal immigration policies as well. So, they quietly pivoted away from the Bush infrastructure in addition to Bush

Michigan got Combine coaches on that NIL payroll so Yaxel heads back to school and completes transfer to Big Blue?

I disagree with this. One of the big drivers of abundance is to make blue states more livable, increasing their population, and decreasing their electoral vote loss in the 2030 census.

It’s wild that the one person he definitely does not resemble is Rick Adelman.

Is this basically a make good to put them on par with the Big 10? SEC folks are groussin’, with some justification, that the payout difference between the two is not warranted

The only problem was not finding a substitute for Braun in the bench unit.

Lavender for sure. Requires so little water when established. Lilac bushes are great for sunnier south facing spots

East of the cascades we have no shot withe them lasting. Friends on the west side have had some luck but no guarantees. By the house facing south is probably best bet.

Good stuff! But, I think the best deal is Portland. Giannis and Dame for Ayton, Grant, Simons, opted in Thybulle, 2025 first, and the return of Bucks 28-30 draft. Bucks would have completely clean cap on a year and control of their own draft for a rebuild in 28. Blazers instant contender.

If Wolves and Cavs both make the conf finals Danny should be forced to attend both series and we need one of those Nico cams on him permanently

Great crowd for a playoff elimination game. 😏

If you wanted to go really big do both suggestions! Brown for Avdia. Send the 2025 first and Ayton to Nets cap space. That leaves room for the PG trade. Roll out Scoot, Sharpe, Brown, PG, Clingan. TC and Simons off the bench. Instant WC Finals contender

This is interesting. I would think PG would balk at playing in PDX and that would make it impractical in the real world. But, this is the right idea. A veteran 1-2 guy who is a bit overpaid but willing to be a star in a small market.
comment in response to

I think you’re right and it would leave the Blazers short of real contention unless either Sharpe or Scoot take a massive leap. But, Portland is relying on that happening right now anyway so worth the shot.

Trade him to the Blazers for Deni and you both get out of the second apron and maintain a viable title window. Blazers would get their franchise lead and be an instant second round playoff contender.

Does the new gm get to hire medical and training staff? Seems like it might be important there.

Just file the flight plan to Fresno and tell the bus north or south when you get there.

The crazy thing is that his agent almost certainly has another school ready to offer him the 3.5M or this doesn’t get this far. Too much dumb money out there and too few quality fbs starters.

Totally agree. Grew up in the 80’s in a middle class household in a big California town. I thought shrimp was exotic and rare. You never saw it in grocery stores outside of the expensive butcher cases. Coffee was Folgers or Maxwell House.

Club World Cup and Gold Cup first this summer. Wondering how many foreign fans will come to that. Then,
of course, LA Olympics in 2028. ☹️

I think this is already fully baked in for fans of teams outside the Power 4. There’s just an assumption that any player on your team playing above the level of the league is gone next year.

I think they are more natural heels. Now they an openly complain about the flippiness and the ‘modern’ style practiced by the rest of the roster. They are gonna be awesome curmudgeons.

I do wonder if OKC will win the title without facing an elimination game, and maybe only 1 game 6, and we will conclude they were the best team in history and we were ignoring the obvious indicators all along.

It’s a really eye-opening visual representation of the data. Thanks for putting this together.

Got it. Thanks. So, the south hill fatalities are really clustered around our two major centers for grocery shopping, 57th and Regal and 29th between Regal and Southeast. If you put Safeway locations on the map it would track pretty closely.

Ah, think I misread the map. Are the green pins non-fatal collisions or transit stops?
comment in response to

From my South Hill perspective it’s interesting how High Drive is so much safer than other n/s arterials. Also, the collisions on 57th seem to be entirely at intersections. Those recently improved crosswalks hopefully help.

The confusion comes from when I read something like this Inlander article which makes it seem like we have de-regulated our way out of our shortage. So, how far away are we from a Yimby end state? www.inlander.com/news/how-spo...
comment in response to

Ok, so if we enacted those changes do we get to the Yimby/Abundance vision? Much of the current dialogue is around either criticizing NIMBY’s or promoting small, incomplete changes. I still, after years of following this idea, don’t have an idea of the list of changes Spokane could make to be YIMBY

What would a bill or code change look like that would make this legal in Spokane? Is it possible to describe those changes in the length of a skeet or elevator pitch?

If you were Naz Reid’s agent would you use Markkanen as a comp for contract negotiations? If you were a contender would you target acquiring Reid over Markkanen?

Are there any western conference teams besides Houston who would consider just making the playoffs a successful season (Sac, Clips)? It seems like we may have 3 disappointed teams exiting the first round. Should first round losers be disappointed in bowing out early in a stacked west?

How am I supposed to keep track of San Diego, UC San Diego, San Diego State? They just keep making up schools in that town (San Diego Tech to the final 4!)

The Warriors should take an off day, throw on ‘Bay Area Tech’ jerseys and whoop ass in the Big West tourney and see how long it takes espn2 to catch on.
