As a Canadian, I can say that the correct way to eat Smarties is in a fashion as Canadian as possible, under the circumstances/aussi canadien que possible, dans les circonstances. Half an hour later in Newfoundland.

I have been to Europe 5 times and never rented a car. I may want to some time, but given the choice between paying more those hypothetical times and somehow learning a skill (for which I don't have easy access to the equipment) to do something I've never _had_ to do in my life, the answer is: me.

Cat food is over-ripe when the can peels open. Experienced cat food harvest workers know to harvest when the can is full size but still tightly closed.

Hmm I think someone else already suggested Arkady Martine’s “A Memory Called Empire” and “A Desolation Called Peace” — they both spend a lot of time on governance, and they’re excellent reads. Also already mentioned was the Expanse series.

Why not "If you can make fire, what the fuck do you need a stove / oven for?" There are varying levels of convenience and utility that refinements in technology can add.

I didn't like the answer, but I got one. None of the people ruled ineligible this year were afforded that courtesy. They were cursed at. I wound up getting involved in a process to amend the WSFS Hugo rules so that audiobooks were considered a form of publication the same as print.
