What country is this?

"You know you’ve sunk into the middle of a total Assholocaust when Hitler-loving Kanye is stepping in as a cooler head, tweeting: 'Broooos please noooooo,' which he followed with a hugging emoji. 'We love you both so much.'” open.substack.com/pub/mattlaba...

With SCOTUS allowing DOGE access to sensitive social security information (while shielding DOGE from having to turn over its info), I'm ... feeling pretty good about some of the stuff I said on @thedailyshow.com (ca. 9:05): www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBFE... & for more: bookshop.org/p/books/lawl...

President Zelensky responds to Donald Trump’s moronic analogy comparing him and Putin to two kids fighting in a park: “We are not kids with Putin at the playground. He is a murderer who came to the park to kill the kids.”

Sounds like Nazis: "Part of a broader wave of immigration enforcement actions nationwide. Advocacy groups and immigration attorneys have criticized these actions, labeling them a 'dragnet' operation targeting immigrants complying with the law." kfiam640.iheart.com/featured/la-...

For those of us who’ve spend the last 6 months discussing how the Trump would use deportations to create chaos is the Blue states and then use that chaos as an excuse to declare a national emergency and seize total power, things are right on schedule.

Right wing nativists pushed Reagan hard for mass deportations, but Reagan knew the only way to deport 11 million people quickly is through human rights abuses. That’s why he gave them all 11 million amnesty.

Provocative. Sad. And much too true…. substack.com/@djrothkopf/...

Is this the Trump parade prep?

The money being spent on Trump’s ego parade could feed every single homeless veteran in America for more than four months.

FIFA and International Olympic Committee must be loving - US govt tear gassing protestors in Olympic host city - Travel bans for 19 countries - Out of control interior ministry, disappearing people, no tourist's safety can be guaranteed www.themirror.com/news/us-news...

Trump may have embarked on a new strategy for undermining the judiciary called “court-baiting.” The tactic entails forcing the judiciary to take potentially unpopular decisions that are necessary to protect constitutional principles, then attacking them for those decisions.

Trump’s ICE militia is deploying to US streets as if it’s the US military on the streets of Fallujah. George W Bush gave us the war on terror. Donald Trump is giving us fascism and white supremacy. What a combo.

Trump can try all he want to pretend he is some kind of victim of Musk’s insanity, which is clearly the strategy. But he enabled and bearhugged and took all that dough. Dems cannot allow Trump to decouple him from Musk, now or ever.

Trump called musk a big time drug addict, and told JD Vance to be cautious about how he spoke publicly. Ted Cruz is scared. The loss in Wisconsin was the tipping point. Musk begged Trump to reverse tariffs. Musk and Bessent got into a physical fight over DOGE failures. Gift link: wapo.st/3TeoIxy

BREAKING: Donald Trump tells NBC News that Elon Musk will face “very serious consequences” if he funds Democratic candidates. Like Musk or not, a president threatening private citizens over political donations isn’t just wrong, it’s authoritarianism.

So despite representations made to judges and claims made to the American public, it was always this easy to bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to the US… Trump says it was the DOJ’s decision, not his. www.nbcnews.com/politics/don...

It was always about due process. Due process for all, including Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

Joe Biden was old and not fully competent and his staff covered it up. Big scandal. Donald Trump was accused by his top donor and former top ‘Special Government Employee’ of being a pedophile. So are his staff covering that up? Isn’t that, y’know, a bigger scandal?

This brings back that horrible, painful, traumatizing memory of the time he told Mike Pence “we can’t be friends anymore.” Life can be so hard. 😢

NEW: Texas lawmakers quietly rejected a proof of citizenship bill for voter registration in a surprise move for the deep-red state. Advocates say Republican lawmakers backed off when they realized it could disenfranchise their own voters. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

7 June 1906 | A Polish woman, Zofia Piotrowska, was born in Tarnopol. A nurse. In #Auschwitz from 19 January 1943. No. 29901 She perished in the camp on 24 February 1943.

Trump tries to dismiss his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein as “old news that’s been talked about for years,” citing the attorney who represented both him and Epstein to deny any wrongdoing.

Speak up. It’s easy.

“Because when a political movement lies compulsively, rationalizes cruelty, and flinches at accountability, the question isn’t just ‘what do they believe?’ but ‘why must they believe it?’” open.substack.com/pub/theratio...

Only saw the pic and assumed it was a story about ICE

I agree with the observation here that MAGA’s “talking points aren’t constructed to persuade but to protect.” January 6th conspiracy theories serve that same purpose - to deflect blame so MAGA diehards don’t have to accept that their side was responsible. open.substack.com/pub/theratio...

Check out this chart showing how US tariffs on aluminum put US aluminum-consuming manufacturers (Boeing) at a big cost disadvantage vs their competitors abroad (Airbus) #EconSky

“They want everyone to believe what they believe. When Trump changes his mind about something, then you need to believe that, too. It’s functionally a totalitarian political view that says, ‘You’re allowed to think and say what I want you to think and say.’”

The return of Abrego-Garcia to face due process in the US, after Trump officials swore he would never ever return to the US, is a reminder that politics matters and pressure works. Don’t give up. Don’t let the fascists relax.

I had a great conversation with Senator Claire McCaskill about Trump, Republicans and how Democrats can win again. I hope you watch and enjoy. youtu.be/jCxmX6YK45E

I loathe Musk as much as anyone else but for a sitting president to openly threaten a private citizen over what political donations he or she chooses to make is a reminder of how authoritarian this country is becoming by the day - by the hour even!

Trump v. Musk? Trump winning. "As of early Saturday, Musk's Epstein-related post was no longer showing, with X users receiving a notice that reads: 'Sorry, that post has been deleted.' And it’s not the only post of Musk’s that has been deleted." time.com/7291898/elon...

Every reference to these guys should note that several remain adjudged terrorists. Even Trump didn’t disrupt that ruling from a Trump appointed judge.
