Totally normal heat wave

Check out these curbside Electric Vehicle chargers in London (UK). I like how the one disappears when not in use.

Where Vancouver goes, North Vancouver is soon to follow. Nice to see these changes to single family zoning: www.northshoredailypost.com/district-of-...

We added 6 electric hot water tanks and 4 heat pumps into a 1960s 6 unit townhouse building. Using Canadian made Evectrix load management, they were able to avoid an upgrade to the original 200A 3 phase service. Today was the media event with Minister of Energy and Climate Solutions Adrian Dix!

I caught someone stealing tonight. They did a break and enter in our neighborhood some weeks back. I recognized them, called @vancouverpd.bsky.social ,criminal tried to flee, I gave chase. VPD was on the phone and arrested them a few blocks away. They had an outstanding warrant, straight to jail.

Our electric utility just launched a flat and time of day rate option. They have a tool online to look at your two previous years of smart meter data. For our house the time of day rate saves a couple of hundred dollars if we shift EV charging and some dishwasher time to overnight.

The City of Vancouver has run an incentive program for Passive House @ipha.bsky.social and CHBA Net Zero @chbanational.bsky.social for the past 5 years and is considering an extension for 5 more years. Should the city go from 5% to 10% floor area for cert? council.vancouver.ca/20250603/doc...

Looks like IKEA Richmond has some big Electric Fleet plans! This in addition to their current offering on the customer side, where they give 2H free EV charging 24A@208V, $5/h after.

Every $1 spent on building grid interties between B.C. & Alberta would allow the two provinces to save $5. So why is the Alberta regulator not pushing for an intertie with Site C, just 60km from the AB border and a restoration of the southern intertie to its PATH rating? www.biv.com/news/resourc...

Classic Alberta headline

You love to see a more connected Canada! The proposed Kivalliq Hydro-Fibre Link would see a 1,200-kilometre line built through northern Manitoba to several Nunavut communities west of Hudson Bay that currently use diesel to generate electricity. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Electricity Camp was awesome!

There should be an option on hotel travel searches for "120v outlet provided". I was searching for a hotel in Banff, those with EV charging were 2x$. I went with a lower price option & 120v was enough over our 3 day stay. Outlets left over from Now removed old central vac system.

Nation building project! It could be the first of many. Nice to see the Yukon and British Columbia signing an agreement to explore connecting our electrical grids. An electrified North benefits Canada as a nation: www.yukon-news.com/news/nation-...

Great piece in @macleans.bsky.social: Canada can forget America (or at least think about it less) and build upon the plans of the past, for a much stronger East to West electrical grid. macleans.ca/economy/forg...
