We didn't do it intentionally the past. But now, especially in America, it does appear as if people in power are choosing to behave as if they were a Captain Planet villain and accelerating climate change for no reason.

I think that the flip happens earlier, and not in the same place for everyone. Depends on the teachers and the subjects the students are pursuing. It’s a fuzzy line.

Anyway they have a clue for a possible big bad they can pull on later, and for this planet (we’re playing spelljammer) they have multiple options for fighting the local colonizing fascist regime. They feel comfortable about sticking their neck out and have enough information to risk it.

I think that is really the secret sauce for a downtime session let them get the info they need to get deeper into the plot. Don’t let them to easily negate a problem, but be prepared for the diviner to have a nat 20 portent and reward them for spending those class resources.

I’m just a simple country narrative designer, but I do believe that measles makes kids the kind of sick (long term immunocompromised) that will cause them die from these preventable diseases we solved years ago.

I feel this about everything that happens in this administration. Why do I know more about finance, international trade, infectious disease, everything. I have a theater degree and write about monsters. I should not be more informed than the top people in the government.
