Lettuce vs. cabbage?

I wonder if they meant a sleeping bag liner or hostel bag? When I worked at MEC we had them people would use them at hostels as a layer between them and the bed. 1 shirt a day? Plus extra shirts?

Now they, they being the capitalist class, will throw up their hands and say, “It’s too late now, nothing can be done.” Or sell us castles in the sky named Carbon Capture and Sequestration.

There’s been some rumours about something happening in Iran recently. But of course there is the problem of confirmation bias and anyone making predictions.

You make a valid point. I need to reconsider and refine my thinking here. Thank you.

Oh no, we’re going to channel Peterson and start having to define violence and property! 😱 For me, I don’t believe violence applies to property. That gives an inanimate object a level of protection that is rooted in capitalist principles of property and power.

You can bet they plan on feeding all of that driving info into an AI. Insurance companies have bought into the tech hype.

How does a person “aggressively” pull their arm away from a cop? That isn’t an aggressive move, that is a defensive move.

My cousin is taking it to cure her colon cancer. It’s not effective. The cancer is now stage 4. She is going to die because of pseudoscience.

Good luck. It’s tough out there right now.

Does anyone else remember when Gary Burghoff was drunk tweeting? He went off on how much of a jerk Robert Conrad was on Battle of the Network Stars. Considering that Burghoff was considered difficult to work with that is saying something.

I’d have to choose Hawkeye. The Guardian recently had a very good interview with Alan Alda.

Great story. I read it back in 1988.

Meanwhile, the planet burns, countries will be destroyed by flooding, and people will die. All because we won’t stand up to oil companies and believe in the fairytales of unlimited growth.

I live in just west of there in Alberta Ave. The bike lanes on 119th are well used by many people (on bikes, skateboards, scooters). There has been almost no impact on the cars. Also, 122 is massively overbuilt for a road that has a 40 kmh speed limit.

I live beside a road with a protected bike lane. It is great. I regularly see people riding on it, skateboarding down it, and it gives extra distance when I’m walking and someone else is one the sidewalk. Best of all I don’t hear the bikes, I just hear the loud cars going down the same road.
