You may be interested in the disastrous situation in Aotearoa New Zealand is in at the moment with PR. Our version sees the nominal elected National Party totally under the dual hammers of its minor coalition partners who are driving policy making that barely anyone voted for - itâs not good.

Totally, I guess thatâs something he has done đ€Ż

All well and good in theory. But on closer inspection there be traps with PR too, as evidenced by the current situation in Aotearoa New Zealand where 2 minority parties are running all over the nominal elected party of government. Not many kiwis are getting what they voted for either.

The worst thing (in a crowded field of worst) is that this resonates with so many Little Englanders who are living impoverished lives, pining for the good old days and just want to blame someone for their diminishing situation. This âfactâ will be quoted up and down the land.

Because driving standards and in Aotearoa are so good? We have a significantly worse stats for fatal and non fatal road accidents. Sure, review the cost/ efficiency of people getting their licences but making tests less onerous seems a strange way to improve road safety.

53% is hardly a strong endorsement? What about the rest?

Errr so what do the other 47% see? 53/47 is pretty much even stevens. So what about the 47? They donât see any positive impact, or see negative impact or just donât care?

Starmer is extremely hard to support at best of times - base level has been âbetter than the Toriesâ but with this rubbish, that is running on empty

Hard agree. Airbnb style accommodation seemed like such such a great idea at first ( refer also twitter, fb, amazon et al) but now, out of control, it wreaks havoc in housing markets worldwide. If itâs commercial accommodation then it needs to pay appropriate business costs including rates. End of.

In Otautahi for eg we are swamped with stores so there is literally very little space for new players, even if anyone thought there was a decent profit to be made from taking a third share of the pie whilst driving down retail pricing
comment in response to

The state of our supermarkets is a national disgrace. Suppliers, staff and customers treated with absolute contempt. Agree that a third player wonât necessarily be a step change. Aotearoa is an extremely challenging physical location for distribution with small populations spread throughout. 1/2

Out of date for sure; the myth of hobbits and wine and giving women the vote continues to hide the current reality
