Sweet vindication! Have never been able to get on board with constant (or even regular) water swigging. Haven’t shrivelled up yet! 😅

Me too. Or at least, I think it having realised there’s little point to saying it!

All these are correct. 😉

Yup. I’m with Ben on this.

This is the most important point! ☝🏼 Talking at cross purposes often about this.

Came here to say this! ☝🏼 It’s likely to be heavily weighted by sector. Definitely think it’s crucial to plan own r/w/m lessons (with support from strong specialist background work e.g. mtp) but beyond that, using something pre-designed that you can adapt for your ch is a often life saver in primary.

Cassie! Fine, both of you. Enjoy the cold. I’ll just be cosy over here with the very few sensible people in this thread.

Yep. It really can be most of September for some kids. Keep talking to her teacher (and the head if you’re worried in a week or so). But honestly, this is quite normal. I know that makes it no easier as a parent. I find it really hard with toddler/nursery and I KNOW he’ll be fine in a few mins.

This was my first car to drive too! In 1997 tbf, but I LOVED it! 😍😍😍

Yes. This is where being in a local authority school or even a small MAT without the resource/experience to provide this support to schools leaves leaders in such an intolerably vulnerable position.

Me too.

going to cut it. I’m glad to see the plan for weekly training for inspectors - I also want them to recruit with much more rigour.

“Our inspectors…. are expert.” 🧐 From 12 inspections last year (and around the same number most years), that sadly wasn’t the overwhelming experience. It’s desperately important to get this right to improve equity of inspection and tinkering around the edges with crowd-pleasers like this isn’t

This is really important. She seemed to say things weren’t changing in that regard but this would be a change… We also need the detail about how decisions will be made on what “support” will look like and where exactly it will come from. This worries me.

Tbf, we had to laugh at these things even at the time, to keep our heads above water! My colleague thought the second one was terrible enough to be funny (dark humour!) and so it was on display in our SLT room for a while. I had to remember to explain it when people visited! 😬😳😂
comment in response to post
Oh yes, absolutely. I’m just looking back at the awful ones now it was long ago enough to laugh about it!

The 6 sec is important because it’s about automaticity - not if they can skip count through tables to finally reach an answer (which has been a problem with how ch have been taught for a long time). Also agree that this idea of 100% is fictional. Most I know look at average score with 23 being 👍

I remember being very pleased to remove the “Your mother doesn’t work here” sign from the kitchen in a school I worked where culture had become somewhat grim. 😬😳🥺 Followed by a sign for children in the dining hall which ended, “I am warning you” 😱😰

I think we’re driving 😬

Will DM you my number in case you need a buddy. Would gladly befriend any friend of Rachel’s. 😊 I’ll probably be late and dropping a toddler at crèche etc. but will get there eventually!

I had 2 albums but I think I’d forgotten that I didn’t really listen to them that much when I decided to go and see them! 😬

Agreed. And so did the whole crowd at the Roundhouse. But the rest of the couple of hours were 💤💤💤💤😪😪😪

Fairground (one of the most awful songs of all time) went to number 1! 🤢😭

Yeah, I can see that. Wouldn’t have thought of them but yes.
