Reminder that California subsidizes red states.

"But here’s the thing: Targeting people with violence to hold them responsible for the actions of the Israeli government simply because the targets are perceived to be Jewish is antisemitism."

In amongst all the excitement I fear many have missed this outstanding bit of trolling by Friedrich Merz. The Chancellor gifted Trump a gilded framed copy of his grandfather’s German birth certificate... reminding Americans that Trump is both the child and grandchild of migrants.

Sorry to step away from the catfight, but we’ve got a win! A federal judge has temporarily blocked the Trump administration’s attempt to dismantle AmeriCorps halting the termination of grants and its volunteer network!

Welp.

Jews in America are being firebombed, shot, and terrorized—targeted not for what they’ve done but for who they are. @mimirocah1.bsky.social addresses the rising pattern of antisemitic violence disguised as political protest.

We’re seeing new escalation from the Trump administration and Russ Vought targeting federal employees. As the fallout between Elon and Trump grows, the resistance is being blamed. For now, everything is okay on our end. We’ll share more details soon.

Hey Trump if you really want to stick it to Elon you should restore the CFPB so it can reopen investigations into his companies! Or better yet, walk back every destructive thing DOGE has done. That'll show him!

White House claiming tariffs pay for OBBBA. That wrong. Bessent counts interest from tariffs but not OBBBA & he does 11 years of tariffs but 10 years of OBBBA. Account for that & it's a coster. Ofc the big issue is there all the temporary provisions in OBBBA. Account for that & it's a HUGE coster.

Elon now wants to rebrand himself as a moderate, lol

Keep track of any Democrat or commentator or personality who advocates for Musk to be welcomed back into the fold. These are people you cannot trust and should be kept as far away from the levers of power as humanly possible.

Louisiana Sen. Kennedy on @morningjoe-msnbc.bsky.social suggesting Harvard should have a monitor to determine if it’s breaking fed’l law—this with the administration walking back monitors for police depts & jails we know are breaking the law, but they’re giving a pass.

1. President Trump is using various crypto schemes to shamelessly exploit the presidency for personal profit. So why did 16 Senate Democrats provide crucial votes to advance legislation to make these schemes MORE PROFITABLE FOR TRUMP? Follow the money.

Capitulation to Trump’s bullying does not work. A lesson for schools like @dartmouthcollege.bsky.social and other individuals and institutions.

A win! A federal judge has blocked the Trump administration’s attempt to eliminate Job Corps a Department of Labor program that provides job training to young people entering the workforce.

Reminder to ICE: Do not lay hands on American citizens. Video, photos, and personal information have been recorded. Actions have consequences. If you have information to share, email [email protected]. Your safety is our top priority, never forget that.

If Musk & his pals are so concerned about increasing the national debt in Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill, why don’t they cut the $664 billion in tax breaks for the 1%; the $420 billion in tax breaks for large profitable corporations; & the $150 billion in increased military spending?

Cost estimate of the House-passed "Big Beautiful Bill" is out It'd be the largest cut to Medicaid+CHIP and SNAP in history while still increasing deficits by $2.4 trillion due to $3.8 trillion in tax cuts This'd be the largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in a single law in history

NEW: Since reentering office, Trump has made clear his feelings about diversity programs, referring to them as “Radical and Wasteful” in his executive order — an order that has derailed the careers of Black civil servants whose work was unrelated to DEI. By @davidmcswane.bsky.social

The Congressional Budget Office said the sweeping Republican bill to cut taxes and slash federal programs would add $2.4 trillion to the national debt over the next 10 years. Fewer services for the American people, but yet more debt.

Here's a crazy idea: instead of kicking 10 million Americans off of health insurance, Congress could just eliminate the trillions of dollars in tax breaks for the ultra wealthy & slash the bloated trillion dollar Pentagon budget. Seems like a painfully easy fix, no?

The Trump administration is now coming after the Congressional Budget Office. The White House’s campaign against the nonpartisan agency that scores the cost of legislation is veering into the absurd, all because the CBO concluded that the

“Trump’s power to daze and paralyze may now be on a downward trajectory. Recognizing that possible shift is important to embolden resistance to his dangerous, would-be autocratic rule.” Excellent article ⤵️

So we have a head of FEMA who doesn’t know about hurricanes, a head of EPA who walked back his views on climate change, a head of HHS who says he can’t give medical advice, & a president who doesn’t know corruption is wrong. Are you feeling great again yet, America?

I don't know whether Elon v Trump is real or going anywhere. But both have real weapons to use which they haven't. Elon can spend money pumping up resistance to the big beautiful bill. Trump can start yanking the contracts Elon gave himself running doge. Until those things happen, meh.

Here’s what will happen to our National Parks if Trump’s budget passes. Did you know America’s national parks actually generate more income than they cost to operate? Yet under Trump’s proposed 2026 budget, the National Park Service (NPS) would face devastating cuts:

The Republican reconciliation bill which makes massive cuts to Medicaid in order to pay for huge tax breaks for billionaires is not just bad public policy. It is not just immoral. It is a death sentence for struggling Americans.

On May 23, President Trump signed an executive order he’s calling a “restoration of gold standard science.” But don’t be fooled, this is not about scientific integrity. It’s about political control. The order gives Trump’s political appointees sweeping power over federal science. They can now:

A win! The Trump administration is backing off its demand that states hand over personal data on SNAP recipients after a lawsuit. In a sworn statement filed in federal court, the USDA said it is pausing its plan to build a national database of Americans receiving food assistance.

The bad budget bill would ban states from regulating AI for the next 10 years. Today, 260 state lawmakers from all 50 states - Republicans and Democrats - are calling on Congress to oppose this dangerous measure. If it becomes law, the public will be vulnerable to the harms of AI.

The Trump administration has announced that it is revoking guidance to the nation’s hospitals that directed them to provide emergency abortions to women when they are necessary to stabilize their medical condition.

Speaker Johnson says there's “a moral component” to Trump's "big, beautiful" bill. Really?   Is it “moral” to cut nutrition assistance for hungry kids?   Is it “moral” to eliminate health care for 13.7 million Americans so the 1% gets a $664 billion tax break? I don’t think so.

How are the MAGAs liking Musk today? 😂 We agree the bill is an abomination, but don’t get it twisted, Musk. It only took an international boycott to get you to change your tune. We’re still boycotting you. We haven’t forgotten. Foxtrot Echo Mike.

The rescissions request is out. This is very real. As with reconciliation, this is filibuster-proof, meaning that there is no Senate cloture vote, and Republicans can pass it even with all Dems opposed. The White House is calling to cut global health programs, condemning people to die.

The acting head of FEMA, a Trump appointee, told staff today he didn’t know the U.S. has a hurricane season. FEMA is dangerously unprepared this year.

Loyalty tests have officially arrived in the federal hiring process. The Trump administration just unveiled a so-called “Merit Hiring Plan”, which includes a quiz asking job applicants to name their favorite Trump policy or executive order.

Trump is trying to sell his domestic policy bill with lies. Let’s break them down. Trump said, “We’re not doing any cutting of anything meaningful. The only thing we’re cutting is waste, fraud and abuse.” False.

House Republicans are considering a new judicial requirement that would allow Trump to skirt court orders for a short time. Legal experts warn it would cause chaos in the courts. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

The Trump administration is once again asking the Supreme Court to block a federal judge’s order that temporarily halted its plans for mass layoffs and agency program closures.
