I saw it this weekend myself. And I basically agree with MY's review. I might nudge it up to 3.5 stars, but yeah, the ending was a bit on the pedestrian side. But overall a very stylish film and a very well-told story. And Ralph Fiennes was fantastic.

The supply problem is implicated: a country with very old homes is a country that is not building many (new) homes. The data unearthed by Politano here is just *one more symptom* of America's aversion to increasing the supply of housing.

Did you see the debate? I liked/admired Joe as POTUS, but he was behind in the polls for all of 2024 until he withdrew, after which Harris was (modestly) leading. To me the evidence suggests she fought Trump (held him to under 50%, led Dems to House pickups) more strongly than Biden would have.

Perhaps the most potent lie of gun lobby is that reasonable, common sense gun laws equate to "banning" private ownership of firearms. Nothing could be further from truth. Many high income countries allow widespread gun ownership, hunting, etc. They just don't have America's *anarchy* in this area.

Republicans hate plenty of things that help or would help their constituents.
