Not to brag excessively (this is actually totally meant to brag excessively), but a Texan has won the Scripps National Spelling Bee for the fifth time in the past ten years. Congrats to 13 year-old Faizan Zaki of Dallas! 📚🥰

Harvard president receives standing ovation during commencement.

Barring drastic developments, Cuomo will likely be the next Mayor of NYC, and a lot of NYC progressives will whine that it's an unfair system and continue to do the same damn things that fail to build a winning coalition. Rinse and repeat. I honestly don't get it.

I would legit die for this woman.

I'll never forgive these people for making me root for Harvard.

Reminder that these dudes spend most of their time telling us they're alpha males and masculinity is in crisis.

5 years ago today, my life was irrevocably altered 🧵

I'm Dr. Annie Andrews. I’m a pediatrician, not a politician. But either way I know how to handle people who are full of sh*t. Today I am announcing my campaign for US Senate to replace Lindsey Graham. Share this if you're with me. www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8wM...

Well, if I have to have nightmares tonight after reading this, so do you.

If you haven't subscribed to Charlotte's Web Thoughts yet, I have to say it's a pretty great blog on politics, religion, and culture. It's free to read and free to subscribe. Folks can do paid subscriptions to support my work, but it's not required. Subscribe here: charlotteclymer.substack.com

Putting my amateur rhetorician hat on for a moment, this is an *excellent* example of apophasis.

Whatever's going on with Stephen Miller, his wife Katie Miller, and Elon Musk is between the three of them, Musk's army of baby mommas, their personal assistants, Trump admin staffers, various fertility professionals, high value donors, and the D.C. press corps. It's really none of my business.

If you really believe that Elon Musk is no longer involved in the workings of the Trump Administration, you shouldn't be in journalism or politics.

Elon Musk did not leave the Trump administration. He's making a sleight-of-hand show of leaving the Trump administration while still being very much part of it behind closed doors, and yet, reporters who should know better continue to put out shit like this uncritically.

He murdered two innocent people. Go fuck yourselves.

WELP, that's it... Jake Tapper is officially full of shit. Maybe you were doubt before this evening. Doubt no more. Jake Paul Tapper is completely full of shit.

We never hear about good op-eds that were written in college. It's always crazy shit: destroy the federal reserve, ban vaccines, etc. Just once, I wanna hear about a politician who wrote a college op-ed calling for paid family leave.

What no one in political media is telling y'all is that no in D.C. is taking Trump's Golden Dome proposal seriously. Not the military. Not the media. Not lawmakers. No one. It is the policy equivalent of putting a child's shitty crayon drawing on the fridge.

"A Christian school in the Atlanta suburbs forced a senior to withdraw just weeks before graduation after attending her prom with a transgender boy... [...] ...The school receives taxpayer funds under Georgia’s school voucher program." www.metroweekly.com/2025/05/teen...

As a cis ally with trans loved ones I urge non-trans folks to read and consider Charlotte's *extremely* patient and caring POV here. I've had conversations w/cis friends who've justified buying HP content that makes JKR richer by saying "but the ppl involved are pro-trans!"... that doesn't matter.

This is correct, and no amount of silly ass "ranked-choice voting will save us" framing is gonna prevent Cuomo from winning. This primary is his to lose. Zohran Mamdani, Adrienne Adams, Brad Lander, etc. need to decide if they actually want to beat Cuomo or be a footnote in his biography.

Guys, it's the oligarchs. If you want to blame someone for 2024, blame the oligarchs. Anyone telling you to blame someone else is part of the oligarchy. Dark money has been to blame since citizens united.

Hey, Democratic policy makers: most rural people aren’t farmers. We need policies to reflect that fact.

Yes, I'm aware of the casting news, and regrettably, I'm gonna need to tap the sign. I appreciate your understanding. charlotteclymer.substack.com/p/please-don...
