I think he's just riding off the anti-DEI, anti-woke wave while Apple is doubling down on DEI. So he's trying to exploit that. Shameful on Zuck's part.
Hell, this little Apple invention alone has done more for my quality of life than anything Meta itself has built lately.

Hell, even SpaceX can claim more recent inventions than Meta can (or at least Elon's engineers can, etc.) with the Falcon 9 landings and reuse, the Falcon Heavy, the Crew Dragon, and the Starship as-is all coming within the last ten years. Don't knock Apple if you aren't actually doing any better.

Apple at least can point to its silicon efforts with the M-series processor. Everything since Facebook, far as I can think of, Meta has pretty much bought or ripped off. Oculus, Instagram, LLMs, Threads, etc. Most of its revenue is from Facebook...the last big thing it invented ~20 years ago.
