Having had a front projection theater setup at the last house and starting to think about it again for this house.... I can't ignore these 105-120 inch displays. The brightness is starting to get downright amazing.

As I put it to my wife "the countertops of my brain kitchen are full, I have nowhere to set this..."

Instructions unclear, how much garlic do I add, and why don't the noodles seem done when I try to slurp them while steaming...

I think he just explicitly called out a half time show by LIl Nas X for next year, like, blood filled Nike's and all.

I think the intent is that they will surely decide that Elon is more qualified to rule over their bountiful lands and request to become territories of the US with Elon leading, so they can broker a sale of Greenland to their new, glorious leader.

Measuring investment (your time, frustration, guidance) vs output is just as easy WFH, too. If you've got an outlier with no reason to be (new, transitioning tech, personal issues etc) WFH isn't making them that way.

TL;DR: Please make a screen-having device with the audio processing power of HA Voice preview plus a fully functional HA display with support for custom screen savers (for ImmichFrame!).

This will actually solve another problem we have: automations to display cameras out of Frigate when a doorbell rings or someone approaches just plain SUCK with google nest hubs as the targets. Hopefully we get more flexibility doing it this way.

To jump start the process I've picked up a thinksmart android teleconfrence tablet with hopes to meet our needs with HA App for dashboards/cameras/Hey Nabu and immich frame screen saver for the photos. AFAIK wake words aren't supported on android app, but hopefully some day.

For the rest of the rooms, we really have fallen in love with the google photos scrolling across. It's actually the only reason we upload photos to google photos now that we have @immichapp.bsky.social working so well.

Sadly that doesn't replace the Google nest hub devices we have sprinkled throughout, only the google nest mini's. For the kids room it'd be fine: those are mini's restricted to music and announcements. Basically all the strengths of HAVoice. Bonus points for the 3.5mm jack so we can do better audio

Worth it is a rough statement in a POC/MVP. Will it impact adoption? Will it be a differentiator vs other solutions that people "live with"? Is my user base primarily power users who won't get caught up on it? Is it something better onboarding can help avoid? (I'd add documentation but lets be real)

I think you're doing the right thing, as long as you're adding telemetry to see how many times this trips people up. If query building is a core barrier to success with your platform you should be able to tell if your users are having trouble with it. Verify need or delight factor before investing!

As with most good problems no one-size fits all solutions and no way to make 100% of the userbase happy and safe.

"is this really a key or should I help you make a key from other keys and this ID?" "This f key, showing ownership/grouping plus an ID is the proper key for this table, if you want to play nice with other, similarly scoped tables!" I think?

Yoinks how cold are we talking?! Hope you muster up the confidence to go find dinner and a warm up somewhere. Is there a puppy puddle forming yet for warmth?!

Man.... My daughter is Margaret, named after my grandma, and she insists that her stage name is "Margo" and I call her Maggie when I want to get her goat. Either way, never Peggy.

Best time to have one. Daily use and chlorine added for me, never a big problem. Love the 10 AM "email is caught up, morning meetings are done, let's have a cup of coffee and not get our thoughts interrupted" routine.

This is the sort of fulfillment I need, knowing teenage me didn't scream lyrics of a band that is totally awful. All bands I love are not jackasses, in my head.
